Overall our floors look ok, but there were a couple of very bad pieces of wood that should have never been used in our installation. Some pieces are cracked, some had saw blade marks .. really bad stuff. The company was aware of this as they attempted to use a dark filler to hide the defects in the wood. Honestly, at $11,000 if they has said we should buy an extra box, I would have been totally ok with that - but this was never suggested. Also, we discussed the possibility of having this company redo our stairway. They came back with a $8000 quote. We said no. They then offered us $3,000 to put in 20 spindles and a railing, again we said no thanks. And even though they promised to put holes into the new flooring for the old spindles, they never did it. They actually left us with NOTHING, not even a temporary barrier along our upstairs staircase!!! and they knew we had kids. Finally, the worst part of all of this is that they would not even return our calls. They ignored our requests to come and discuss the damaged pieces!! I will try to post pictures.

- They should realize that customer service is an essential part of their business and help homeowners find solutions. They should also perhaps make sure that they order more wood than is needed so as not to use bad piece.

- Stick with a contractor who offers a guarantee! Get every single little thing in writing before you pay them. Don`t pay until you have had a full inspection with the installation company present.
