We hired Your Reno Guys to do two bathroom renovations this Spring. Like several of the reviews here, our experience was less than great, not because of the work itself, but because of the owner. At our initial meeting, we were optimistic, but were challenged within minutes on the timing for the two projects - Mr. G checked the paper work, rather than take our word. In the spirit of cooperation, we tried to meet the company part way - and survived for weeks with only a shower in our ensuite.
I could go into significant detail about our experience, which for the most part, was pretty negative. Fortunately, some of the workers were efficient enough and did a great job; others, not so much. Day Two, we woke up to one of the bathrooms leaking to the floor below, requiring two ceiling areas to be opened up and repaired. The lack of direction given to other trades also caused them to have to return to redo work, including the electrician who miscalculated where new light fixtures would be installed, even though placement was clearly marked on the wall - and the new fixtures were even located in boxes on the same floor.
On a regular basis, we were subject to confrontational emails, and on more than one occasion, were yelled at over the phone. When we attempted to arrange a meeting to try and resolve issues, the owner refused - too busy, which was probably for the best, because almost every interaction was heated and stressful. As in one of the reviews, we contemplated Small Claims Court over a billing discrepancy. Although we were confident we would win if challenged, we decided it was easier to close this most unfortunate chapter, pay the added charge, and get on with our lives.
Would not recommend this company.
