Granite counter

The granite counter was for a kitchen remodel to help sell our house, the counter was cut short so I'm not happy with the fit, it means I'm going to have to tile backsplash an area that I really didn't want to in order to hide the gap.

I'm happy with quality of the granite itself and once I've added the extra backsplash it will look great, but that is something that I shouldn't of had to do.

Approximate cost of services:
$3,200.00

Company Response

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your input and we appreciate your review. I would however like to clear up a few concerns regarding your comments about the granite being short. Firstly, when we measured the kitchen countertop there was an existing backsplash with existing drywall (we based our measurements on those dimensions). At the time of installation, I noticed that the backsplash tile and existing drywall was removed and new drywall was installed. This had obviously altered the measurements of our granite pieces. Secondly, it is very common to always install some sort of backsplash tile or backsplash granite along the back side of the countertop because there is always going to be gaps,I have never met a straight wall where there isn't any gaps, hence the backsplash tile or granite backsplash hides these gaps.

I am glad that you are happy with the work, and the service we provided. I just wanted to clarify why the slight gaps occurred. Like you mentioned, the easiest solution is to install the backsplash tile along the underside of the window, which is common practice in our industry.
