George is the consummate professional. We had our basement finished in October of 2015 and there was not a single issue that we came across. George finished the project in the timeframe he laid out, did not introduce any scenarios that would result in added expenses (as most reno projects of this scale can easily have), communicated clearly throughout the entire process and even followed up after completion to check in with our experience.
Our basement was approx 700 sq ft and needed a complete finishing. George, and the few other people he worked with, finished everything perfectly. Walls, lighting, carpeting, doors, etc. were all perfectly done.
George was extremely respectful of our home for the 3 weeks he was working on our basement. Any mess was well contained in the basement and in fact, it wasn't as 'messy' as I anticipated it could be. Had a toddler and pregnant wife at home during that time and felt safe because of the cleanliness.
He was also respectful of the time that our family actually spent at home as well. Everything was finished in less than 3 weeks and not once did he have to do work late in the evening or any earlier than 8 am. That's efficiency right there.
One key point of appreciation: I actually brought up a corner-cutting suggestion to potentially help lower costs, but George stood firm in completing the work professionally and according to the standards that he abides by in his profession. He did an amazing job of clearly explaining the importance of doing things 'the right way' and in the end, I have more peace about my finished basement. There are plenty of contractors out there who wouldn't even question doing work in a compromising way, but George is not one of them. You and your family will feel comfortable AND safe with his projects.
I've since referred several ppl to George because of our great experience. Even to those who live far away from the west end of the GTA. They too had nothing but great things to say about their encounters with him.
For any future projects, George is at the top of our list. In fact, I can't think of anyone else to consider at this time.
