Be VERY VERY VERY careful when booking a service call. They will charge you the following:
1. $75 call out / site visit fee
2. Diagnosis fee ($25/15 min)
When booking I asked specifically if the diagnosis fee was to be waived if I elected to go ahead and do the job and I was told "yes". This is not however the case. Whether you elect to do the repair or not these two fees are in fact charged. In speaking to the company representative (who was polite and listened well)I was told this must have been my misunderstanding and that what is "waived" is a second $75 site visit fee when coming back with the part to do the repair. Interesting they refer to second visit resulting from having no part a fee waiver. Clearly this is misleading. Given they must diagnose a problem to actually repair it, it should be waived if the client chooses to go ahead and do the repair. It makes sense to charge for this if the client declines the repair but their alternative is disappointing and just a money grab. I asked to have the fee waived as an exception and was told no. Bottom line I went ahead and will pay them $550 ish (part was $260 and install was 45 min). I will update this review once they complete the job. I called two other repair depots in Calgary who both waived the diagnosis fee and only charged the call out fee if they ended up doing the job. Best to go elsewhere imho
