Acker Home Inspection

The guys were wonderful. Phil took the time to explain to me everything in details about the defects found and provided me with documents needed to submit the 1 year Tarion warranty form. He also answered all the questions I had about the house. Great service!

My wife and I were overwhelmed with Tarion's New Home Warranty requirement to submit a 30-day list of deficiencies with a tight deadline looming. We lacked the expertise and time to be able to adequately assess what should be identified as Tarion-related deficiencies except perhaps for some obvious cosmetic issues around the house.

We put in a call to Phil Acker who came to our aid in an extremely timely fashion and conducted a thorough (and I mean thorough!) home inspection. Phil uncovered various deficiencies of all sizes and concerns throughout the house both interior and exterior and produced a detailed report within a few hours. The report, complete with detailed photos, made it easy to complete the Tarion 30-day form.

More importantly, Phil explained to us all aspects of what he was finding as he was doing the inspection. We learned a lot just by listening to him and were so impressed by his expertise but also by his ability to educate us on complex building-related issues in laymen's terms.

If we had not hired Phil to undertake this home inspection we would have missed at least a dozen concerning issues with our new home, issues that would have potentially cost us thousands of dollars going forward.

Phil Acker knows his stuff around all aspects of home building and code requirements and is an absolute expert when it comes to the Tarion New Home Warranty Program. Without reservation we HIGHLY RECOMMEND Acker Home Inspection.

As far as inspections go, I don’t think we could’ve had better service than what Phil and Randy provided. They were knowledgeable, took their time to answer any questions we had and were very personable. They provided us with some advice and guidance for some of the equipment we weren’t very familiar with and explained some of the issues and potential concerns that they found throughout the inspection, while also giving us some preventative maintenance tips to do throughout the house. The report at the end was very comprehensive and easy to understand. I would highly recommend Acker Home Inspection to anyone.

The 2 gentleman came promptly at the scheduled time. They explained everything they were going to do including the report process.
They welcomed me following them around and explained everything as they did it, including explaining things that weren't all part of the inspection process but were important to me.
I had my list of deficiencies before they left and I had the full report that evening. They worked together well and with good humour. It was a very positive experience!

I wasn't sure if I should get someone to inspect at 30 days..but I am so glad that I did!! They were amazing. They showed up exactly on time and set everything up right way. You can see they are very professional and thorough. He was very attentive to details and explained everything to us in a way that we understand. Even the guy who came to fixed the issues recognized him and said he is very good! What I loved they gave an electronic copy of the report, I just had to copy and paste that to fill up the Tarion form. Thanks a lot for your service Phil! Phil was able to juggle his schedule and fit our Home Inspection on the day we preferred. He was very profession and thorough and explained the process prior to beginning. After each area inspected he provided his findings. Much easier to take all the information in when done in smaller pieces! He also provided recommendations where needed. Once completed he hand delivered the documents as well an an electronic version complete with pictures. We would definitely use his services again!
