Sliding door - cancelled job

I ordered a sliding door in September, provided a down-payment, and the order was marked as rush so I would get it before the winter. I was told to expect arrival in 2 weeks and they would call. One month later I received a call asking why it was marked rush, and was told it would be 8 weeks from then. Well, it is now winter and I am very disappointed....I cancelled the order and I went with another company. I do not have a satisfactory explanation as to the delay and lack of communication to me, but they did give me my money back without a problem, so I am giving them 2 stars for that.

Company Response

This narrative has to be removed from reviews' page, because reviews can be posted ONLY BY CLIENTS WITH VALID CONTRACT, but not by people who got a conditional quote from us. Contract is deemed to be valid when is signed by General Manager i.e validated. This Quote was never signed i.e. validated. Let me explain why. Jackie Van Lierop called to Meridian Alberta on September 30, 2015 (last day of September) with request to come to her and give a quote for patio door. Same day at 5:30 pm our representative visited her. She expressed her wish to have custom made - non standard door to be delivered to Meridian warehouse under condition "cash & carry". "Cash & carry" means client has to pick up a product from Meridian warehouse, no installation to be provided. As soon as it was supposed to be non standard, custom made door from Novatech only supplier, she was advised about 4 weeks delivery period ( not 2 weeks she claims) from date when Meridian General manager signs contract to have it valid. Novatech supplier answered that was able to manufacture this door only after 6-7 weeks from time of order, but not earlier. As soon as it was time sensative for client, Meridian General manager personally contacted Jackie Van Lierop to discuss several other options which could be available to make contract to be validated and go ahead with it. Non validated contracts by General manager are not considered as valid contract and do not go into production phase. Jacquie V.L. declined all discussed options and requested her down payment to be returned. Refund cheque 002864 for $315.00 was mailed to her on November 02, 2015. So it came as a surprise to see this narrative posted. Please remove this narrative as soon as it does not meet criteria of writing a review by a real client who has VALID CONTRACT, but not a conditional quote provided. The reviews' page of Homestars is not a panel where any person can post anything they want excersizing ability to write.
