It took us three years to finally move forward with completely gutting and designing our home. It took three years because I (not my husband) dreaded the work and stress we knew would be involved. After meeting with various construction companies, we immediately decided to use Elite because of Jay. Jay was straightforward but patient in addressing our fears. Jay and his team (including our project manager, William and site supervisor, Peter) were incredible at staying on task, and addressing every hiccup that arose. They kept us informed and addressed each and every concern we had throughout the process. Each stage of the process, from demolition to hanging our new doors, involved the most courteous and professional trades, we have ever encountered. Various neighbours even commented on how professional the workers were and were amazed that there was a crew on site, every day. I knew right away that Elite was right for our project when I first spoke to Jay. He was prepared, insightful, and real about what we were about to undertake. This was further confirmed as I met the rest of the team: Keith (our project manager) and Michael (our site manager). Professional, kind, smart people who know their jobs inside out. Elite kept our project on track with high quality work and a "get it done" attitude. It felt like a true partnership with the team throughout this huge project. And the end result is fantastic. Jay and his team were amazing from day one. We knew we could trust him when he insisted that we meet in person before hiring his company for the job. He understands the importance of interpersonal relationships and how it can affect customer expectations. The Elite team listened to what we wanted, were honest about what could and could not be done, gave advice that was in our best interest, answered questions and explained things without being condescending, and genuinely cared about how we felt about the outcome of the project. Our project manager, Jason, was great and took amazing care of us on site. Will was fantastic at taking care of business! If a problem arose he was on it and had it solved in no time. In terms of cost, the pricing was realistic and whenever money could be saved they found a way to do it without cutting corners. When it came to payment, it was well laid out for us on their builders app so we knew what was owed and when. Steph was great at ensuring payments were easy to make and never made us feel pressured. Of course the work was very well done and demonstrated the Elite team's vast knowledge and experience.
Even though the work we hired Elite for is complete, they continue to make themselves available to us in a consultation role while we complete the reno ourselves. That personal touch makes all the difference.

Elite renovated our entire home which included an addition on two floors. To our surprise, they moved very fast, getting the job done within the estimated timeframe. We've heard from others how renovations can drag on but Elite got the job done extremely efficiently even with some bumps in the road. Keith was super responsive and pretty much available to connect and talk with us at all times. He addressed urgent issues in a timely manner and kept us up to speed with changes and or progress. When we encountered a roadblock (foundation issue), Keith looped in trusted contacts that helped us resolve the issue quickly as to not delay our project even further as well as at a cost that we could afford. We could not have handled that without his help. Micheal & Bill were incredible to work with. You can tell they care so much about the quality of the work being done in our project and on top of that just always a pleasure to deal with. We love our new home, thanks!

We had a great experience working with Jay and his team at Elite Construction and Renovations. We contracted Elite to renovate our home. They managed the work through many trades and specialists in a profession manner, and the quality of the work they performed was excellent.

Beyond their craftsmanship, Jay and his team resolved issues for us that fell outside of their role as contractors or what they had been originally hired to do. You could always count on them for support and guidance.

Finally, Elite uses a tool called Buildertrend to ensure clients are kept up to date on scheduling and payment requirements. It also allows change requisitions to be approved directly. The tool is available both online and as an App. It was easy to use and very helpful for staying on top of things.

Background:
We purchased our home in 2019 knowing it needed a big reno. The home had not been updated since 1986 and desperately needed a complete overhaul.
Selecting a contractor was scary for us it was a big project therefore it was a big financial investment. We were terrified to become a news statistic of another couple who had been taken advantage of by a dishonest contractor.
We interviewed contractors for a year before we found Elite.

Elite - initial impression:
Elite immediately stood out from the rest. The owner Jay was incredibly responsive to our request to meet and discuss our potential project. This seems like a given of course but it was 2021 and COVID meant everyone was renovating and lots of contractors either didnt respond or dropped off during the discussion process.
Our quote from Elite was incredibly detailed and based on our discussions with Elite we could tell their project management and processes were also detailed. We had some contractors basically quote us on a napkin for the same project with little written details on how we would get from A to B.

The project:
Our project consisted of gutting the main floor and second floor. The home was previously a three-bedroom but had been converted by another owner to a two bedroom. We were converting it back to a three bedroom while also adding a powder room and closet on the main floor. We were also taking walls out to make it open concept on the main floor. We also wanted a linen closet added upstairs with a redesign of the bedroom closets and bathroom size.

Timeline:
Elite gave us a timeline of four months to complete the project.

The team:
The Elite team were fabulous to work with. Our site supervisor Michael did a great job and was even in communication with our neighbours so if they had any questions or concerns they knew how to reach him. Our project manager Keith was amazing at keeping us posted on all of the details we needed to know.
In addition to the resources we had assigned to our project we were also given access to Elites project management software that allowed us to see on any given day where their project was, upcoming selections we needed to make for the house or when different milestone payments were due.

The result:
We finished on time and on budget with our project. How many times do you hear people say that?! We are completely delighted with how the project turned out and are so happy to have a home we finally love the look and function of.

Our neighbours had wonderful things to say about how kind and respectful Elite was to them and to the neighborhood.

This was my third renovation and this was by far the most positive experience I have had. The entire team made me feel that they cared about this project and my happiness throughout the entire process. Often times contractors are challenging to get in touch with, this was not the case here! Keith (project manager) and Michael (site manager) immediately responded to my concerns and questions and always provided me with detailed answers and solutions. I could not be happier with the very high standard of their work, all the people that they contracted to implement the work and the way I was treated. I felt valued and my home looks fabulous.

We engaged Elite for the second major reno of our east end brick house (the remaining floors) after a good experience with the gut reno of our main and second floor in 2015. The scope of this renovation involved some tricky roof and structural work for a third floor addition, and finished as a principal suite. Once again, Elite was on time and on budget. And importantly, incredibly professional and collaborative to work with. The project manager, Keith, was exceptionally well organized. We moved in on our original target contract date, on a pandemic construction project!

Additionally we had a baby during the course of the renovation and they were understanding and accommodating for us to work around some of our dates, all while maintaining schedule.

The overall quality of the work is high. Any areas we wanted addressed or deficiencies have been resolved without issue.

We would happily recommend them and will work with them again for any future renovations.

After 10 years of living in our 100+ year old house, and countless stops and starts on the renovation train, we decided to finally pull the trigger and go big. We met Jay a little over a year ago, when we triple bid our renovation. We immediately knew we were going to be in good hands and engaged Elite as our contractor. After helping us with the scoping and permits, we were introduced to Keith, who became our project manager. We wanted to be out of our house for as little time as possible, and we knew that a three floor renovation, where we had to move staircases and deal with structural changes, that we wanted someone who could help us drive the project forward, while ensuring that things were done right. We were lucky to have struck that balance with Keith. He and our site supervisor Jamie worked tirelessly with the sub-trades to stick to a schedule. There was never a day when we came on site that there wasn't someone working. With a project this size, there are bound to be some hiccups, and we weren't unique there, however, what was unique was Elite's ability to work the problem and find a solution. Every. Single. Time. The project ended almost to the day that it was scheduled to finish. Not many people like their contractors at the end of a project this size, in fact many don't have anything nice to say about them....we have however, have nothing but good things to say about Jay, Keith and Jamie. They did right by us, and if given the opportunity I'm sure they will do right by you too.
