Renew Stairs

What a transformation! We had the carpet removed from our stairs and upstairs hallway. The steps, risers, spindles and posts were replaced. In fact the posts were custom made and the nosing was completely redone so that the spindles fit/align properly and better than before. The handrail was reused but was sanded down and was custom stained to match the steps. I already had hardwood downstairs which was an exotic cherry wood and the hardwood I selected for the upstairs hallway was a pretty good match, but slightly lighter match and not cherry wood. However Moe's installers are experts and they did an incredible matching and transitioning of the stain on the steps to match both up and downstairs. Absolutely flawless. They also made a custom one piece of wood to fit into the awkward floor space of the curved part of the staircase. The work was done quickly, but not rushed and we are really happy with the end result. Moe is priced well and builds a solid stair transformation. No more squeeks! Also, Moe is true to his word that he is not happy unless you are happy. At the end there were a few cosmetic
things that we thought should be fixed and it was taken care of immediately. The stairs are perfect. The only suggestion I have is that if you intend of having your stringers painted over with white paint like we did is that you sand and fill in any imperfections first, yourself, before it is painted as this was not an extra step that the installers took. It was corrected when we pointed it out, but painting is obviously not their business- building beautiful stairs is!

I searched homestars and called Moe due to their excellent reviews and we can assure you that we were not disappointed. We wanted to remove the carpet from our stairs and do the nosing upstairs under the railings. Also we wanted to get the work done as soon as possible. Moe was very prompt in answering my call and even if he was extremely busy he made up time to come and understand the work and give me a quote. The work was completed in 3 days. His guys were very extremely professional in their work. Every day they started their work on time and worked late evenings. Moe personally came to inspect the work and made sure everything was according to the quality which was their standard.
