Assiniboine Lawns & Landscapes

This is the second time we have had them. They did paving stones at the front of the house 3 years ago. Zeke was the worker who did both jobs. He works extremely hard and puts in long hours. He takes great pride in his work. The railing for the deck and stairs is a work of art and way beyond our expectations. His work with paving stones is incredible in the way he maximizes his material to fit the space. Sometimes cutting 1/2inch gap fillers without breaking. They aren't the cheapest but you certainly get what you pay for. I suspect we will be having them back for more work.

Assiniboine delivered on this project. Chris went the extra mile to ensure every special request we made was executed to our satisfaction. The two employees he sent to the job site were first class. The quality of workmanship exceeded our expectations. We're inviting them back to design and build an outdoor fireplace because they've 'earned' our trust.

I hired Assiniboine Lights & Landscapes this summer to do work on my backyard. The main objective is to replace the weed preventing screens in my lava rock bed to ensure no weeds or grass come through the rock bed. I stressed to the project manager that because of arthritis in my knees, I can not bend and pull out weeds and grass. I showed him my neighbors stone beds that had no weeds. The project manager assured me that there will be no weeds or grass once Assiniboine has done to work.
Assiniboine also did other work which they did well. My only complaint is that now it is 3 months after the work is finished, weeds are grass are coming through the screens again which I did not want to happen and was the main reason for my hiring Assiniboine Lights & Landscapes
When I complained to Assiniboine Lights & Landscapes Customer Service, below is is the response I received which is very disappointing
“Thank you for sending these photos along, I have spoken to your project manager regarding this matter.
There is no warranty for weeds, unfortunately, Weeds are a part of the Calgary environment. We can take all the necessary procedures to try our very best to limit the amount of weeds coming up but there are no guarantees that you won’t have any weeds at all.

There is a disclaimer in the contract that we had you sign at the beginning of the project stating we do not warranty the weeds

Weeds are a part of maintenance. If you do not maintain your property weeds will grow.”

If this is the case, then the project manager should have told me this before he accepted the work. I would have not hired Assiniboine Lights & Landscapes. My neighbor’s rock beds have no weeds or grass coming through.
From my experience with Assiniboine Lights & Landscapes, do not believe what the project manager tells you and read the fine print.

Very disappointed with Assiniboine Lights & Landscapes.

Dig out and redo overgrown planting beds, remove weeds and grass, add barriers, loam and mulch. Trim and clean up shrubs and trees.

It is beautiful. Safe. I love how they kept in touch with me while I was gone. Fully satisfied. I highly recommend their services.

Excellent team, helpful with ideas and planning, excellent crew, paving stones in a consistent pattern sloping away to drainage area, great work installing louvered shutters on patio. Overall a great job.

10/10 .... Safely completed the repair of fence and retaining wall. Great communications regarding the estimate, very competitive pricing, started 2 weeks before anticipated (good!), workers were extremely personable ... esp. Carson (kudos to him), work was done when they said it would be, great flexibility to deal with issues (large concrete blocks that had to be moved for proper drainage).

We showed Assiniboine a picture of what we had in mind for our patio, and from that they brought it to life exactly as we had hoped. They were very respectful and nice to work with. We would highly recommend their services.

Great experience with Assiniboine. Dave, our estimator, helped us work out a design that fit our budget for a new deck and stone patio. He was very helpful and came out a few times as we re-worked our design. Anka and his hard working crew were fantastic, friendly, and professional. They were able to start our project ahead of schedule and finished quickly despite having to work around some bad weather. The final product looks great and we are excited to enjoy our new patio this summer.

We had wanted to renovate our back alley gate and make it more secure and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Anka, Zoob and his crew assisted with designing an amazing cedar gate with an overhead arbor. They cemented in the cedar posts and build a durable 6 inch cedar door with a double cast iron design in the upper top of the door. We nicknamed the gate- “the King Kong gate” because nobody would ever be able to trespass due to the size and durability of the door. They did an outstanding job. If you need any landscaping work for fences, gates, and gate doors, just ask for Anka’s crew!!!!
