Purchased a new Kenmore stove for my older parents, store sales staff were great. Delivery people dragged the old stove out across their kitchen floor ripping up the vinyl tiles finish, but parents were older and did not notice at the time. Came after work to see the new stove and noticed the floor right away, went to the Sears Oshawa Centre store, spoke over 10 days with my salesman, appliance manager, store manager and customer care in the Philippines. The out and out arrogance of the local store manager just blew me away, never returned a call even though he promised 3 times in a face to face. Ended up taking the morning off work and going to Sears head office in Toronto, no markings outside, a sleezy side door down an alley near the Eaton Centre. No management would speak to me, they were all wrapped up in their glass towers, but lady at security took my info and said an executive review group would call me within 48 hours. Ended up getting total compensation on my credit card of $260 including the delivery charge ($70), but this just covers your time off work, gas and parking in Toronto. The arrogance of Sears upper management is unbelievable, and I must admit they have lost my business. We went back because of their cute ads on TV and wanting them to stay in Canada.
