We had a very bad issue with our foundation several years ago (primarly rusted rebars at window well level) which was repaired by Eric's Concrete to our great satisfaction. In that instance, we had never flooded, luckily, however the repair meant that our house was dug all around, fences and permanent installations, walls, patios and flagstone staircases all had to come out and then go back in. It was very stressful. 1-2 years ago we began to notice musty smell and evidence of water in one corner of the basement. After a week away in which we received more than 90 ml of rain in one day we were constantly flooded in that corner. Because we were under warranty from the previous repair, Eric came to inspect and to try to determine the issue this time. He asked us to try several remedial actions which we did (removal of a rain barrel that was overflowing and flooding that corner, plus changing downspout locations and lengths. We were too close to winter to be able to run the appropriate test required, so he made us one of his first calls in the spring. Surprisingly to Eric, (not what he suspected) we had another rusted rebar in that back corner only, this time at footing level. Knowing how stressed that last dig made us, Eric and Scott worked on solutions that would be the least disruptive to us. Once the crew arrived, it was amazing how efficiently they worked for the least disruption. Because one of our fence gates again had to be removed, they went the extra mile and sunk a sona tube for us in the gravel in anticipation of a new fence/gate going in. As well, there was a tiny bit of damage to some siding in the process, which they had reparied, but were very patient about waiting for payment in the interim. The foundation now again repaired, we are very pleased and starting to enjoy our garden once again.
