We decided to do a kitchen and bath renovation and we were referred to Digiuseppe Interior Design. We like Deborah because of her professional approach. Her vision for our space was both timeless and contemporary. She applied her artistic design and ideas to a unique space. We highly recommend her for any project. Her eye and professionalism came through in every aspect of our renovation.
Double billings, incomplete work and total disorganization would best summarize our experience with Deborah. I can not emphasize enough how stressful it was working with this company. Nothing is done when they said it would be, the workmanship was poor and many things had to be re-done. Grout is crumbling, cabinets are peeling, doors don't lock, and their staff changes so often you don't know who is managing your project. The invoices would come randomly and often before the work was completed. Done in such a manner that you did not know what you were being billed for and we found thousands and thousands of dollars in errors. Run as fast as you can and don't make the same mistake we did by hiring Deborah!!
Way more expensive than it should be. Nothing was finished remotely on time ( 5 months just to figure out how to get the door to properly lock...). The company is way too unorganized and many of the projects that they did for us are starting to fall apart only years after being completed. Although she has some neat ideas, I don't think she knows how to properly run a business. I'll be surprised if they are still a company in years to come.
Like the other reviews stated; they have some good ideas but they make promises to be done at certain deadlines and never are. It took them months to finish painting one of our doors and the whole room was supposed to be completed in a week. Also they seem to hire people that are cheap to do small things such as painting, or shower door installations etc and have screwed up so many times where they've had to redo most of the project. Stay clear unless you'd like a migraine.
Deborah is fantastic! She's been doing the best quality interior design work in and around Edmonton for as long as I can remember (30+ years). She helped me renovate my home in Grandin and gave me above and beyond what I expected at a very reasonable price. Her energy is contagious and makes the whole process of home renovation exciting , educational and enjoyable.
I'll agree with both reviews here. Deborah has good taste, but the whole experience as been a nightmare and if negative numbers were an option, I'd assign one. Nothing ever done on time and jobs left half finished for week/months. So many things have had to be redone, it is getting ridiculous. Only hire this company if your life has been too easy up until now!
If I could give this company a -10 review I would! Like the other reviewer I have had my tile grout crumble. It seems this company is consistant on its lack of a quality job. Though the surface may look nice....the foundation is seriously lacking! I had renovations of my home done in 2009. Within a year the tile grouting started to crack and then crumble. After months of multiple emails and calls from me, my grouting was replaced July 2011. By Oct 2011 it started to crumble and fall out again. Again after months of multiple emails and calls that were ignored, my grouting was replaced Feb 2013. The second time (2013) DiGiuseppe replaced the grouting I asked if the grouting was the problem or was it due to the floor prep. I was verbally told by the owner Deb that the tiler coming to fix it was the best in the business and would fix it so that it would no longer crumble. The tiler did redo the grout in the entranceway, which has not crumbled as of yet (I believe this is because he shimmed the floor as he said he would). He also said that he would put a new subfloor and Ditra mat under the tiles in the entranceway. This was not done and he said it was not needed as he had "shimmed" the floor. The kitchen grouting was also replaced Feb 2013, but only in the crumbled areas with a completely different color of grout! (black verses grey) Therefore the grout had light and dark areas that were very prevalent. I contacted Deb at DiGiuseppe and sent her pictures. The tiler came back and regrouted the crumbled areas with the correct color. But he did not shim the kitchen floor as she said he would.
On Feb 28, 2013 when the work was completed I emailed DiGiuseppe for a written warranty of 1 year for the work they completed. My request was ignored.
The entranceway is still fine but the kitchen grouting has again crumbled and fallen out.
I have since contacted the BBB and they have not helped. I am left with crumbled grout that I now have to get replaced myself. If I was looking for renovation company I would run as far as I could from this company!
They do a very poor quality job and do not stand behind their work.
