We had our stairs redone with hardwood and carpet. Unfortunately, Tomkins Flooring forgot to put the "bullnose" in and the job never looked right. Being unexperienced with flooring and carpet installation, the problem was finally brought to our attention months later by a decorating professional. In going back to Tompkins Flooring they convinced my wife that the solution was another contract for $500+ to correct the problem. Before the work was done, I brought the problem that this was work that should have been done originally to their attention and told them that I would only pay the incremental costs that they would have incurred if they had installed the "bullnoses" originally. They ignored my statement, went ahead and finished the work and then charged my wife's credit card with an unauthorized charge of $500+. I protested; they reversed the charge and filed a lien against my property. The owner absolutely refused to negotiate.
Do yourself a huge favor; never do business with these people. I would never recommend them to anyone.
