Kitchen Renovation

I had a bad experience using the Home Depot (Leaside) for my condo kitchen reno. I believe the problem was due to the fact that Home Depot contracts out the renos to a company called Complete Kitchens who subcontracted out the reno to another company. The project went approximately 4 weeks over schedule. I had to contact the customer service head office to resolve all the issues because management at the Leaside store was not helpful. (Christine at the head office is wonderful.) Even though all the issues were resolved and Christine was able to get my expenses reimbursed for the time my kitchen was not usable, it was an experience I never want repeated in my lifetime.

REPLACE SLIDING GLASS DOORS

Recently, we decided to replace our old glass sliding doors in the entrance way within our condominium. We went to the Home Depot on Wicksteed Avenue and were amazed at the selection they had in stock. After much soul serching we selected the three sliding doors required to fit our space. The doors were delivered in a timely fashion and the installation was relatively easy. Thanks to all the staff who made this project a huge success!

Kitchen floor tiles

We heard about a tent on the radio. The deals are really good, keep an eye out (or your ears for the radio add) it takes place at only one home depot centre. They also had hardwood and bamboo flooring for very reasonable rates.

kitchen cabinet reno

We had our Kitchen renovated and ordered the Cabinets from home depot. Our co-ordinator was very patient, but extremely busy. We went through the planning and drawings several times. It seemed to work out well. However, the installation wasn't as thorough. A single installer worked on our project and as a result, we had to have someone come back serveral times to correct some of the mistakes that resulted.

Mirrored closet doors

We ordered mirrored closet doors from this Home Depot location last Fall. The customer service representative was exceptionally nice, if not completely knowledgable. We were assured that the two sets of doors would arrive within 4 to 6 weeks. Thankfully, we were called and told that the order had arrived in just under four weeks. We drove our purchase home, and opened the boxes, and came to realize that only one set of doors was actually delivered. When I called back the store to see what had happened to the other half of the delivery, I was told that they did not know, but would look into and get back to me by the end of the day. Again, a very nice customer service person attempted to help, but after several days, they could not locate the second half of the order. They called the company and, indeed, the complete order had been filled out. After over a week of not knowing what had happened to the other order, I finally cancelled it, and had my money returned, deciding to buy elsewhere. Even though I didn't want to, I went to the HomeDepot location at the Stockyards, and placed my order. When they entered the information, the lady told me that I had just returned that order, BROKEN, and wanted to know why I was ordering again. TOTALLY confused, I told her I did NOT receive the order, and that, in fact, the store said they weren't even able to locate it! She said a set of mirror doors with MY name on it had been returned by the Wickstead store BROKEN! I think they very well knew that the doors had broken, either in transit or in the store, and decided to say they couldn't locate it! How dishonest!

Laminate Flooring - Dining & Living Room

Dealt with George at the flooring counter. Very professional and helpful. There was a bit of a time lapse between the time I placed my order, and the date the floor was scheduled for installation. During that time, the laminate style/colour that I chose had gone on sale. George called to tell me this, and lowered my price to accommodate the sale price! Amazing! The installation team was quick and professional. I would go back to them again for future projects.

Environmentally Safe Salt alternative

I took an ad to Home Depot from a magazine that I had that advertised an environmentally safe salt alternative to make my walkways safer in the winter. The salesman was soooo rude. He kept walking by and saying in a minute. 20 minutes later I got fed up and used the phone (which I don't think is for customers) and dialed the "outdoor" sales no. as noted on the auto dial key. Guess who answered. He told me to wait again. By now there were 10 other folks waiting to be helped too! All he was doing was moving boxes around. All I needed was directions so I could find the product. He then told me over the phone that I should just stick to salt. One person changing to this stuff wouldn't make a difference to the environment!! Sooooo Rude!!! I went elsewhere to purchase the product and haven't bought anything at Home Depot since!
