Baseboard for Floor.

I had rushed to Home Depot after working OT on the Thursday evening of Oct. 4th in order to pre-pay for some baseboards for floors, thinking that the sale would end that day. I made it inside the store approx. 10 mins. before closing. Stood in front of the item for a few minutes thinking of how to transport 10 pieces x 14 linear ft. of baseboards home. The announcement came on and said the store is now closed. I took a piece of baseboard to the LUMBER side of the checkout to pre-pay, but the cashier said I'd have to go to customer service to do that. I walked all the way across the front end of the store to the customer service counter and the male representative said they were closed 2 minutes ago. I told him it took almost 2 minutes to walk across the store, and that the cashier to me go come here. He then asked the female representative near him to "help" me, but she basically exclaimed that she "didn't want to help" as she was already counting the till. Since the current male representative didn’t say anything more, I walk over to her to see if she would still help. She reluctantly stood up to the adjacent computer to check the price. I told her I wanted to pay for it now, but pick it up the next day. There was no immediate response so then I asked what the expiry date of the sale may be. She couldn’t tell me from the computer data so I asked her if there was a flyer handy to find the expiry date. She pointed to near the entrance where I went to and started shuffling through a couple of different flyers. Then I heard in the background someone yelling that they were closed. I turned to look to find another lady rep. ‘yelling’ in my direction. I gave a puzzled, frustrated look and quickly turned back around to find the sale expiry date. Suddenly, a male employee walked to me and I told him I’m looking for the sale expiry date. He took the flyer from me and proceeded to look through it himself aimlessly, and even started to comment on a couple of products! I stood there wondering what the heck is going on?!?! Then I politely asked him if I may have the flyer back to look for it (and the advertised baseboard) myself, in which he did. I took the flyer and walked back towards the customer service counter, but saw that both lady employees were walking away already.
Immediately another male employee came beside me and calmly asked if he could help me, recognizing my frustrated look. I briefly mentioned what had happened and he suggested he could type up a quote / work order for me. I reluctantly said yes, patiently gave my info without a word of complaint. He even whispered that this terrible situation shouldn’t have happened. We shook each others hands, thanking him, and I proceeded all the way back to the lumber end of the store to exit.
I reluctantly went back on Oct. 8th to purchase the baseboards, and needless to say, I will try to avoid shopping at this Home Depot location and possibly all Home Depots, but will definitely avoid the Customer Service at Terminal’s Home Depot!!! (I may be reporting this to this store’s manager.)
