Art Wave Intl.-Oil Paintings Framing & Mirrors

From the outside this place appears like a friendly fine art gallery and warehouse. Once you’re inside, that’s when things start going downhill fast. I love art of all kinds, especially fine art oil paintings. So I was greatly disappointed when I was quickly bombarded by this super fast talking salesman name Michael. Art is something you have to take your time viewing to really appreciate. With their large selection of paintings, taking your time to enjoy them is a must! But this guy Michael, simple would not stop talking. Once I found an art piece that caught my eye, that’s when the extremely pushy sales pitch began. I mean this guy started writing up a sales slip before we even decide on a price. I should note that this place is extremely expensive. So if you want an inexpensive painting to simply hang on your wall, this is not the place for you, although they can be talked down a bit if you have the time and patience. I eventually purchase the painting after an hour of haggling with the owner over it’s worth. Bottom line, although I enjoy the painting, the process was far worst than having a root canal and going to a used car dealer in the same day! You decide!

These guys over estimate the worth of their pieces in order to make the "deals" they offer you seem good. My roommate and I checked this place out, only to be hard-selled into putting a deposit on a painting we really couldn't afford. When we tried to get the deposit back, THEN we get the information that it is non-refundable! This guy (Michael) was clearly a fast talking charlatan, and his boss (if he even exists) would not even talk to us. Best to just stay away.

Unfortunately my experience was not as stellar as the other reviewer. I took a six foot by four foot (expensive too) 40 year old samurai move poster in to be framed. Their "expert" recommended an archive type of mounting that uses no glue. Well $800.00 dollars later I received a framed picture that quickly started to sag and droop and the frame distorted and the plexi-glass popped out at the top. This was the second plexi-glass as the first was cracked and chipped when I first picked the poster up.
Now I've taken it to another framer only to find out that Art Wave used a double sided sticky tape to secure some of it and it can't be removed without damaging the poster and the tape will be obvious in the new mounting. They also tore the poster and repaired it in the back with scotch tape, so much for archiving.
To top it off, I had taken a similar poster there before I knew all the poor workmanship and another "expert" advised against the type of framing they had done on the first poster.
Unbelievable!
Since then I have used a couple of other places in Burbank. They were both less expensive and did a much better job.

have a a lot of orginal artwork and antuque mirrors that was falling apart. Art Wave Intl.-Oil Paintings Framing & Mirrors really did an excellent job with new beautiful woodwork. really makes the room so our family can relax. reasonable rates and work very quickly.
