First Review

2/10

I purchased a John Deere D130 lawn tractor roughly 2.5 years ago and purchased the premier 3 year extended plan knowing I did not have a trailer to haul the lawn tractor in for service if I had a problem: they would come to me. The Lawn Tractor was prepped by York Region Equipment Rental (formerly Keswick rental) for Lowes. After taking delivery of the tractor and using it, I noticed the cutting deck was not level and called the warranty company Lowes uses to get it adjusted/fixed. They gave me a name of a company on the far side of Hamilton. I called the guy and after we discussed it was clear he did not want to come out and I could not blame him. That distance did not make economic nor logistic sense. I called the service company back and told them the issue and asked why not York Region Equipment ... they said they were not on their system. I just gave up and did some of my own tweaks with the help of a competent neighbour. Fast forward to today and I have an issue with the actual deck engaging the cutting blades. I called the warranty company and they said they would call a company in Aurora to come out and fix the Lawn Tractor. Looks like things have improved with someone local and they even gave me their number to check in with the company. After 3 business days I had not heard from anyone and i called the company in Aurora who informed me they told the extended warranty company they would not come to Sharon to fix the lawn tractor even though "home repair" is part of the extended service agreement. Nice of the warranty company to call me back. I called them instead, informed them of the situation and they said they would get back to me in another couple of business days. Moral of the story is don't waste your money on extended warranty with Lowes and shame on Lowes and John Deere.
