10/10

We went through a disastrous project with Jason Chapados of Chapados Design. Jeff tore up the floor, handled by Jason, our project manager and interior designer, and make it right. See under Chapados Design for the 'before' pics. In addition, Jeff went out of his way and agreed to be a witness in our suit against Chapados Design, which is still ongoing. Thanks, Jeff.

Hired Jason Chapados as our designer and to handle entire project. Use all his contractors. Hardwood flooring slopes from middle outwards. Jason refused to fix it, said it was due to a beam in the middle after the fact. Had email Jason to made sure any slope is fixed beforehand, no response. Had to tear up the floor, found that layers of plywood had caused the hump, not a support beam. Also, use his electrician, subsequently told by Jason that it is the first time that he has used this electrician after he put an electric pipe running outside the wall in the living room. After tearing up floor, foudn his electrician put live wire between underfloor and hardwood. See pics, electrician also put wire below basement ceiling. Work stopped the next day when I refused to pay for their mistake, ie. pay for hardwood floor and labor again. I had already paid an extra $1,500 to redo the drywall that his contractor put up because according to Jason it was not straight. Two holes were left uncovered throughout the winter.
