In 2007, Uptown was sub'd by my contractor to tile two new bathrooms--floors and hand build showers. The tile job was depressingly sub standard: mislaid tile, wavy grout lines, ragged cuts. Additionally, Uptown failed to do field measurements, resulting in their running out of tile twice. I had to pay for additional tile and pay for rush shipping charges. Midway through the job, when it was apparent there were problems in their tile laying, I asked them to stop and not put in the grout, so we could talk and see what to do about the situation. Instead, they doggedly rushed through the grouting, making any discussion of making the tile better moot. Tile is not paint. It is permanent. Everyday, I am disappointed in this job. And at premium prices, to boot. Such a shame.
