We had Middle Department Inspection Agency inspect the electrical work for our second floor bedroom addition. The MDIA inspector approved and passed the work that was wired by our contractor. When we had the borough inspect the addition for the U/O, they denied issuance because the electrical work failed to meet code standards (arc fault circuit breaker was needed and the neutral conductor prevented the arc fault breaker from being used).
We called the office to inquire how and why the electrical work passed inspection (due to the fact that it was in violation of code). The office manager was extremely rude and demeaning. No resolution was offered by MDIA because they claimed the inspection was for a room other than a bedroom (however our contract clearly states the room is a bedroom addition). We plan on reporting this company to the BBB.
UPDATE: After making calls to the corporate office, threatening to contact the BBB, and sending a copy of the contract stating the addition was a bedroom we finally got reimbursed for the electrical repairs. No apologies or further contact has been attempted by MDIA.
