I was highly disappointed because this was not a business that comes to your home respecting your domain. They come in and bulldose through your stuff. . Give you enough things to keep you occupied while the owner and her employee ramsack your personnel belongings putting things in black construction bags so you remain unaware of what is really going on. Getting the biggest shock when the time is up and you realize how much is gone and how little is actually left behind. I was only asked a few times to make decisions in choosing items and realizing later that they were showing me the less expensive stuff and leaving the junk behind. J was only asked a few times to make a decision in choosing an item and realizing later that they were showing me the less expensive stuff and leaving the junk behind. I was only asked a few times to make a decision in choosing items and realized later they were showing me the less expensive stuff taking the high end stuff and leaving the junk behind. They would also try to make you feel guilty if there were items you cherished and wanted to keep. They are not respectful enough to include you in the decision making process in regards to your own personal property. They charge exhorbatent prices and in the initial assessment they wanted to know about your financial resources. They are all about the money. They require you to sign a contract and in the fine print it outlines that whatever leaves your dwelling belongs to the owner. It also outlines that there will be extra charges for the supplies they bring and for anything that has to be taken to the dump. The owner professes that she will take things to consignment stores and share the proceeds but that never happened instead she tells me she donated everything which was highly unlikely since they was a lot of high end stuff. When I asked for compensation or to return my stuff she told me she would bring some things back (which was minimal compared to what was taken), but hasn't delivered on that promise. The price quoted here was only for a walk in storage closet. Be Consumer Aware when shopping for services..Do your homework!

Company Response

I was very surprised to find this review, as you had used my services 4 years prior and persuaded me to help you again despite the fact that Guelph is outside my service area and I was on leave due to cancer treatments. As is my nature, I always try to do my best to help out past clients.
As for the job itself, decluttering is an emotional process for many. So often the personal value we assign to our belongings is not matched by the market when it comes time to try to sell them. Clothes especially, which accounted for much of what you needed help with, cost a lot when we buy them, but consignment stores will not accept them if they are more than two years old. We discussed this, and the clothes were donated to charity.

You were with us for the entire session and involved in the process. We did indeed need to use black garbage bags for items that could not be sold or donated because your building had no bin and all garbage needed to be brought to the dump. The microwave you asked me to sell to pay the dump fees was unsaleable and unfortunately needed to be disposed of.

Our agreement is a standard one that is sent over email and is easy to read and you did sign it. My prices are transparent and listed on my website.

You seemed very grateful to have the room almost sorted out when we finished the job.
I am sorry that our services did not meet your expectations. I do hope you get the help that you need.
