3/10

I hired Bluewater Mechanical based on their high rating but was disappointed in their service warranty and customer commitment. Mike (the master plumber) sent a technician (which I found out later based on their website's employee profile was listed only as an apprentice plumber, not a licensed plumber) out to investigate a leak in my second floor bathroom which was causing dripping through the ceiling. The technician diagnosed the issue as due to peeling caulk around the bathtub and proceeded to strip and re-caulk the seams around the bathtub, charging a full fee of $155+tax for apprx. an hour of checks/fixes. A few days later, the leak recurred again, I immediately tried calling Bluewater Mechanical to come back to re-diagnose the issue since the first diagnosis/fix clearly did not work. However they were defensive and unwilling to come out to check their work as part of their labor warranty, insisting instead that they would have to charge another service charge of $155 + tax if I wanted them to come out and take a look at the same issue again. I would have been fine paying a fair fee for any significant labor/parts on a second visit, but for a company that claims a 1 year labor/parts warranty to explicitly refuse to even return after less than a week to check on a previous job without a further service call charge is appalling. At that point I lost confidence in the company and decided to hire another licensed plumber to come out and properly diagnose and fix the leak instead of agreeing for Blue Water Mechanical to return. I have dealt with many contractors before and most are at least willing to return to check on a recurring issue within the week.
