One of our furniture shopping trips was at Ikea for a bedroom cabinet and nightstand for our second bedroom. Although most of their furniture are assemble at home, everything is relatively easy to assemble. Their prices are remarkably low and their design are simple contemporary. However, most of their furniture are wood laminates and do not last a long period. Therefore, I would recommend them for a college dormitory or a transitional home but no sturdy or sophisticated enough for a permanent residence. The staff are somewhat helpful if you can get their attention, but most things you can get yourself so rarely do you need to find a staff member.

We purchased our dining room set from The Door Store. It was a glass tabletop with six leather chairs. Their prices are very reasonable, however, their quality are kind of hit or miss. Some of our chairs were finished perfectly while others had slightly warped or scratched legs. The Door Store has mainly modern style furniture but everything is generic. I would some of their pieces but not everything there.

We were doing a complete house renovation and one of the areas which need a total makeover were our closet systems for both our hallway and bedroom closets. I would strongly recommend the Elfa system at the Container Store because it is very easy to use and can be tailored to your specifications at a very reasonable rate. The Container Store also has a number of trained professionals that can help you with the design and layout of your closet system as long as your bring them the area measurements. The staff were also courteous and professional, and I would recommend them to anyone redoing their closet system.

Jensen Lewis truly has one of the best modern furniture collections in new york city. We purchased a living room set completed with coffee table from them and was very pleased with the quality and functionality of the sofas and coffee table. Even though their prices are a little high, for the brand name design furniture they offer, it was well worth it.

We hired H&M Contractor to repaint our entire condo recently. We have an approximately 800 square ft. apartment. Although H&M were very professional on the job, their work were not as precise as I had hoped for. Some of the areas they painted weren't taped and some areas were missed as well. I don't think I would hire them again for this price.

We purchased two complete bedroom sets from Macy's Furniture Gallery in Paramus. The sets included dressers, bed frame, nightstands, and armoires. The wood quality of the sets are exceptional for the price. Although the purchase was relatively simple, the delivery process was rather painful. First they delivered the wrong armoire and another time they delivered a scratched piece. However, I must commend Macy for very professional service because they corrected the issue right away and sent a service person to fix some of the loose pieces.
