We ordered and expected R9 wide-spaced triple-pane glass windows for all 15 windows but they only installed 3 windows with those specifications. 7 windows were the lower R7 narrow pane triple-pane and 1 window was a double pane. The company didn't inform me of these changes and just came and installed the windows hoping I wouldn't notice. I wanted the highest efficiency glass possible. If this company could not supply me with what I needed, I would have looked to another supplier. The sales person was not truthful and withheld information in order to make this sale of $20,000. In the end I did NOT get the most efficient windows I wanted and the company doesn’t care about customer satisfaction. They even deleted my Google review! On a day with an outside temperature of -36C, I took temperature measurements of the inside surface temperatures. The interior wall temperature baseline (14.4C) and then measured each window. Wide-Pane glass (12.6C, [delta -1.8C]), the Narrow-Pane glass (9.8C, [delta -4.8C]) and finally the Dual-Pane glass(9.4C, [delta -5.0C]). The windows cover 90% of this wall so, during cold days, the less efficient windows will be felt.

Approximate cost of services:
$20,000.00

Company Response

Hello Mr Ray, as per out many conversations the windows you got are exactly as per contract that you have signed. Just for your information R value is for walls and insulation not for windows and doors as they are insulators. Furthermore windows will always be the coldest part of your home because it is glass and not insulation, we do everything possible using triple glass, argon gas and low-e to reduce the outside elements as much as possible. You are writing in this review that with -36C outside temperature your walls were 14.4C and windows 12.6C, this is actually amazing we did not think windows can be this efficient as they are almost same temperature as the wall with insulation, siding, drywall and etc. One suggestions we have is if you walls are 14.4C you should raise the temperature in you home you will then see a difference in your walls and windows
