I hired Frank from Can-Corn Contracting to do a basement completion in Feb of 2011. By the time he started, I had already paid $4000. He sent two guys to do the framing in March. There were lots of errors and shoddy work, including an entire wall that wasn't secured to the floor. I told Frank and he agreed and said he's fix it. The electrician and plumber did a fantastic job, except that the washing machine leaked. Frank sent three different guys to fix it and neither one did. He sent another guy who redirected the dryer vent to another side of the house and created a new hole in my wall outside. When Frank asked for more money to begin the drywalling, I refused, because the framing and plumbing mistakes were not fixed, it was a nightmare trying to get him to come back and fix it. Finally in July we agreed to terminate our contract and he promised he'd pay back $3200 and I haven't heard from him since. He won't return calls, emails or texts. I've hired a few other tradespeople, all of whom, pointed out the shoddiness of the work done by the men Frank hired. I'm actually thankful that he didn't finish the job, because it would probably have to be redone and end up costing me way more in the end.
