Avalon Painting was hired to do a 3 day job. At the end of the first day Frank (the owner) was given $500 - a third of the payment. Job was satisfactory (a few dried paint drips on walls/doors and he painted over some cement that was on door frames from recently having porcelain tiles installed). On the second day he brought his helper (Judit). She did nothing but complain from the moment she started painting. My paint (Valspar & Sherwin Williams) was "Sh_ _" and was making her feel sick. They usually only work with top-of-the-line Benjamin Moore paints. They went to the store to buy her a mask. When they returned, Frank continued working hard while she stood around most of the time. At the end of the day I said I would like to give them only $300 (instead of $500) because less than half of the job was done and the hardest part was left for the last day. Judit was so angry!! I tried to reason with her, with no luck, and then I became angry. She stormed out the door and Frank said "don't worry about her, I'm the boss". I then gave him the $500. He said he would see me in the morning. He arrived the next morning, said he needed to bring some of the supplies to Judit, at another job site. He packed up his things, said he would be back in 10-15 minutes and never returned. Frank blocked me and I have not been able to speak to him since. Only contact was with Judit through her email and his email, and she was not nice ! Their biggest complaint was my paint choice. I am putting my house on the market and I just wanted him to come back and finish the work, that's all. I am starting to think they have done this before. He was talking about not being able to get some of his supplies, (for example ... his gooseneck paintbrush) back from a customer. As well, I no longer had access to the contract file that he originally sent me.

Approximate cost of services:
$1,500.00
