Calgary Interior Systems

Shortly after pulling my development permit I was contacted by Calgary Interior Systems via mail. As I progressed through my project, it became obvious that I would not be able to physically handle the Drywall install. I contacted Calgary Interior Systems and within 48 hours my project was being reviewed and a quote delivered within 24 hours. The attention to detail, quality of work and holding to schedule was greatly appreciated.
I had an unforeseen delay of a week, but 2 days after giving clearance to start, the boarders were on site, 2 days later mud and tape crew was working and 4 days later the Ceiling texture gentle man arrived.

Project involved just under 2000 square feet of board and the project was complete in 8 days. I am very satisfied with Ralph (owner) and his crews were all very professional, respectful, and executed quality work.

The corridination between Calgary Interior Systems and client "homeowner" was well communicated from the beginning of quotation and site preperation to finished product.
Organization between thier trades was pleasent, from good quality of work, good house keeping of site to a degree.
From the discussion during quotation the promised work and final product that was agreed upoun was delivered excellently and ahead of the agreed schedule.

Calgary Interior Systems were very repectable with Covid-19 protocals, maintianing social distances with the clients, and wore mask at all times while working on the site's basement.

Over a period of 20 years, I've used the services of Calgary Interior Systems for 3 large basement developments. Two of which were walk-outs. My most recent project was a walk-out basement development in a new home we recently moved into in North Calgary. The drywall stage, in my opinion, is what will stand out at the end and reflects the quality of the project. I'm definitely picky when it comes to who does the drywall stage. Ralph has been in the business a long time and knows it well. I was pleasantly surprised to see him using the same crews that I met 10 years ago on the 2nd project I hired him for. This says a lot and means he gets consistent quality skilled work. Barry and Nathan did an amazing job on the taping and finishing. Jason, who is the ceiling texture specialist, again does a perfect job, as did Allen and his crew who installed the drywall. From start to finish, it was on time, scheduled well with great communication though-out. They were courteous, respected covid protocols and most importantly just did a great professional looking job.

We are doing a major add bath and wakin closet from an existing bedroom. Some walls were taken out and a closet in particular was removed with new gyproc needed in ceiling. We hired Ralph and crew to try and match the textured ceiling in the existing master bedroom to the new drywall plain primed ceiling and I must say they did an amazing job !! My wife’s jaw actually dropped when she came in and saw the excellent match they had done.
All covid protocols were followed , super professional

We hired Ralph to do the drywall and ceiling in our basement. We are so happy with the job done by Barry and Nathan. Jason did our ceiling and it turned out wonderful. We can’t thank Ralph and his crew enough for a job well done and their work ethic.

We have used Calgary Interior Systems for our basement developments for our General Contracting company Cleland Contracting. They are always professional and get the job done right and at a very competitive price.

Ralph and his team have preformed the install of drywall install, taping, and ceiling finishing on two of our projects last year. The work was done in a professional manor by respectful trades partners. He did stand behind their work and has taken care of some minor deficiencies after the fact that I would consider being perfectly normal due to site conditions at the time. His pricing is fair, and he stands behind the price by the end of the project. The only note I have to add which doesn't not constitute in us feeling short on the services provided is the understanding of other trades and how they do things, and collaborating for the ease of the overall project however he's particular in their work so that means a lot now a days. I write this review with 15 year in the construction industry.

We hired Ralph of Calgary Interior Systems to frame, drywall and texture the ceilings of our basement development. He contracts out each portion of the job. The fellow he brought in to do the framing, worked so quickly that the job was done very shoddy. We have walls that are not straight, as he did not check the existing studs on outside walls to be sure they were good. When he framed the ceiling bulkheads, he had to be brought back as they were not level. Then we still had to fix them ourselves as they were still wrong. The worst was that the wall the framer built in the bathroom was completely out, by nearly 2 inches, which became evident when the tile setter for the shower came to tile the wall. Ralph came back himself to patch this wall, which is now has ripples of uneven drywall compound on it. We asked Ralph to cover the extra costs we incurred to repaint this wall, and he has not responded to any of our correspondence. The drywall job itself has some issues, we have some bad joints and some corners that are not well done. The ceiling texture work was a fiasco as well. Ralph contracted Big Al's texturing to do the knockdown finish. They had to make 3 trips out as we kept finding areas where they had not properly sprayed the drywall before applying the knoockdown. Our entire ceiling has now been painted over the texturing in order to fix the problem. This takes away from the overall effect of the texturing. See my review on Big Al's for more info on that if you like. Overall, I would never recommend Ralph. Although he does a great sales job on his services, he never lived up to his promises. This was our first experience with this type of development. I now know I should have held back 10% of the payment until the rest of the trades were finished, as this is when the problems came to light. This is common practice we now know, but Ralph was always wanting payment even before we were able to take a good look at the work. Overall not a great experience! The rest of the trades we had in did a great job and we are very happy with them. Unfortunately, this was the biggest and most visible part of the development.
