We contracted Mike of M3X Construction to remove a partition wall between our Living Room and Dining Room. The job was completed quickly, smoothly and within the agreed budget. When the old wall was opened, dangerous electrical surprises were revealed (as often happens) but Mike's electrician dealt with those easily and competently. Throughout the job Mike was approachable, kept us informed and did exactly what he promised. Overall, we are very pleased with the result and happily recommend M3X construction.

After interviewing a number of other contractors we found on homestars we selected M3X. During the estimate we found Mike likable and were struck by how straightforward he was when talking about what was and was not possible. When the quote arrived we enjoyed Mike’s all in pricing. Other companies quoted us one number and only on careful review of the fine print we found the the things we asked for were thousands extra. It took a couple of phone calls for us to believe that “The price is the price.” Mike was clear that unless we changed stuff or there was termites, mold or asbestos the price would be what was quoted. He remained true to his quote.
We told Mike we wanted to start soon and he was able to accomodate us within a week or so. One of the first things that struck us was how clean Mike and Eric left our house. They would vacuum the stairs after each day of demo. Throughout the project Mike communicated well with us. Mike also managed to work with our crazy family schedule, accommodating night shifts and the demands of two kids. He dealt well with our large dog and our dog loved him. We used challenging materials (hex tiles, large format shower floor tiles and a linear drain) and Mike was able to install with great attention to detail. The job was substantially completed in two and a half weeks as promised, although we did have to wait for a custom door to arrive.
Mike’s work was solid and he dealt really well with our pickiness. He worked really hard to fix any minor deficit we found. We would definitely use Mike for our next reno. If you are looking for straightforward communication, a great finished product and a trustworthy person who can deal with your wife’s neurotic attention to detail, then Mike is your guy!

Mike has been amazing. He came in on time, on budget and has delivered a product that exceeded our expectations (and our expectations were high as this is our forever house). He has been friendly and approachable with everyone including neighbors. We have done several renovations on several prior homes with other contractors, two of whom have retired, so we are not new to this kind of work. Mike is an honorable, hard working person in a business that sadly has a reputation for the opposite. A contractor is only as good as his trades and Mike has fostered a reputation with some of the best. I will be using Mike again for some additional minor work in the spring and I
recommend him without any reservations (something I have not done before).

Mike and his team did a great job completely redoing our basement which included:

- Finished bathroom with amazing shower stall with a linear drain
- A couple of closets
- New basement windows
- New drain system
- interior waterproofing
- sump pump installation

We had a few companies quote for us but Mike seemed to be the most reasonable as well as coming across as a down to earth honest guy.

Throughout the process we were in constant communication which was appreciated and he was able to smoothly navigate every issue we encountered.

We found Mike on this website and were lucky enough to have him fit in our renovation on such short notice which consisted of turning a small office and larger bedroom into a 4th bedroom, sanding and staining entire main floor, replacing railings and other odd jobs.

We had a very tight deadline to complete the work. Mike and his team ensured that not only was everything completed ahead of schedule but also with the highest of quality, attention to detail and excellent communication as to what was being done and when. Even when faced with small unexpected issues Mike remained calm and professional and offered alternatives and much appreciated suggestions. And never once did his initial quote change.

Our project consisted of new hardwood flooring and new paint throughout our townhouse, a complete refurbishment of the staircase, and large custom built-in bookshelves. This was our first renovation job in Canada, and Mike held our hand through it all. He was professional, flexible, quick to offer advice and options and very open.
