Squeak Knights - Squeaky Floor Silencing

We had the main floor and upstairs of our 1930's Toronto home de-squeeked. The noise was becoming unbearable, and so we hired Silent Floor Solutions. They were very professional, timely and courteous. The project took 5 whole days to complete. They offered to come back a few weeks later if I found any spots to be a bit noisy still and they did return free of charge. They don't guarantee 100% squeak free, and they can't. Unless you truly pull up all the flooring and fix what's below it, they do the best they can. They do guarantee around 75-90% better than it was. Our home was one of the noisiest they said (my cat made it squeak when he walked!), and I'm sure they got rid of probably 85% of the noise.
The only negative we encountered was that our floors were original to the house, so when they marked the flooring with tape (that's how they figure out where to drill) and pulled it up - the finish came up with it and left us with many stripes on the ground. The floors never looked great to begin with, but we will need to fix that a bit. I would suggest perhaps that they try using a chalk pen or something instead so it doesn't happen to anyone else. They did use the 'best kind' of tape for this, but unfortunately my old floors won.

I would recommend this to anyone who is unable to sneak into bed without waking their partner or to anyone who has a basement apartment below them! We're quite happy with the outcome and are hopeful the effects will last a while.

Another contractor suggested I contact Silent Floor Solutions to address concerns I had with squeaking in the main floor (hardwood) of my house.
Throughout the process, everyone that my wife and I dealt with from this company was very pleasant and easy to work with.
During the evaluation visit, everything to be done was outlined. The work was initially to be completed in one day, but it took a second day to ensure everything was perfect.
All in all, the final cost was very reasonable for the work required. Despite my basement being unfinished, the job required a few more holes in my floor than I originally hoped for. That being said, they are not too noticeable (although it may be a concern for some). The squeaking that was targeted for elimination has now been eliminated, and I'm much happier as a result.
I thank everyone I dealt with for being so well mannered and I am glad that you were able to quickly address the few squeaks I had that couldn't be fixed in the first day.

Came across Silent Floor Solutions at the home show and was excited to find a solution to the loud creaking & cracking of my 100 year old stairs and floors. The creaks would wake up the baby they were so bad. After having a thorough appraisal & inspection we went ahead with the service. The workers were very clean, meticulous and professional. I won't name the builder, as I'm not sure you can post bad things about one company when reviewing another. We got Silent Floor Solutions (Mark) to help us out early on (which saves money), and the floors that were squeeking stopped doing so, and the new floors that we have added since then did not even peep. This is a new subdivision, and our neighbours' floors sound like 50-year-old houses, whereas ours are rock-solid and quiet.
If you are like me, and hate your house sounding like an ancient wood cabin (or even slightly squeeky floors bother you), talk to these guys. Not expensive, professional, with super results!

Lev and his team did a great job on our 45 year old hardwood floors. They would squeak like crazy and with a new baby in the house I wanted to make sure to not wake her when we were walking in the hallways and her room. I've asked several people if they can see any difference in the floors and without telling them what was done they could not see any visual differences but did comment how much more quieter it was. Silent Floors did a great job and made us very happy. Already spoke to them about coming back again to do another bedroom.

I would highly recommend this company unless you want to pay thousands of dollars to replace the floors.

Silent Floors helped sell out house and saved us over $30,00 in flooring expense. Our house was only 3 years old and many areas of the 2400sqft hardwood flooring were alarmingly squeaky and putting people off from buying an otherwise great house. Our only solution was to have the floors redone at an estimated cost of $35,000. Lev and his crew from Silent Floors spent a couple of days fixing the noisy areas and left us with floors as quiet as new (if not quieter) with no visible marks on the floor and no perfectly good flooring going to landfill. We were able to stay in our house as they worked and the whole crew were professional and personable. We couldn't be happier with Silent Floors and would definitely recommend them to anyone.
