We needed to hire an architect to apply for a building permit to remove a few walls some of which were load bearing, and install a new patio door. We also needed the architect to design a layout for a new kitchen/powder room we want to construct. Our access to the house was limited when we hired Rocco as this all happened prior to closing.

I called a few people including Rocco in April. He stood out above everyone else. Rocco called me back the same day and indicated it was no problem to attend at the house during the one access visit we managed to schedule. This was a huge relief. Rocco also verified immediately that there were historical drawings of the house with City Hall - that turned out to be invaluable. He was able to get these quickly after we provided consent from the vendors.

When he visited the house, he measured the place and looked around thorougly. Ultimately, he came up with innovative ideas for the kitchen layout and ensured the requisite stamp on our application for the building permit. His fee was reasonable, his service is excellent/efficient, and we received a building permit within a matter of weeks literally. To the customers reading this review, you do not need to look further, Rocco is the person you want.

Rocco helped us with our basement underpinning and renovation. He came to our house the same day we called him and had a proposal for us later that evening. He completed all the drawings and got all the permits to us very quickly. We had no experience in underpinning and Rocco was very generous with his time and expertise. And the best part, he didn't accept any money until he actually did what he said he was going to do!! Rocco's professionalism, good nature and expediency were greatly appreciated. Thanks Rocco! Rocco was contacted almost in a state of emergency!Nevertheless he showed up in a very professional manner and realy took the weight off our shoulders.All the drawings applications and preliminary matters were well taken care of in a very speedy fashion. My husband and I are just about to start a major reno. The first step before we can do anything is to get our basement dug out which requires structural drawings in order to get accurate quotes. We were referred to Rocco. Rocco was fast, greatly expediting both drafting of plans and getting the building permits from the City quickly. Unfortunately however we had an issue with regards to amendments for the plans that was not resolved amicably between Rocco and our consultant. I hope that for his future projects that this doesn't happen again as his work at the front end of the project was great.

The renovation of our home has been a stressful process, so we were glad when we eventually found Architalcan via kijiji. I found Rocco on HomeStars and gave him a call. He was very quick to respond to my message and we set up a time to meet at my house at my earliest convenience. He arrived on time and listened to the project I had planned. He explained everything he was going to do and delivered. He had the permits in my hand within 5 days. Our plans changed last minute on a weekend while in the demolition phase and he even came out at 7pm on a Sunday evening with no electricity in the house and had the new drawings available for the contractor by that evening. Again he handed me my new city permits within 5 days to continue with the renovation at no cost to me except for the cost of the permits and Engineer stamp. I highly recommend Rocco for any needs you have requiring an architect. He delivers as quoted. I've already passed his card on to a client of mine.

The drawings(and building permit) were ready within unbelievably short period of time(3-5 days from the first visit). Actual payment is taken after permit is obtained. Overall the the service is highly professional; not only this ... but I got a lot of useful advices about my project ( how to do things better, floor layout, how to use space more conveniently, where to relocate tech. room, other possible enhancements to my basement, etc... ).
