Dave Marcotte Foundations

I hired Dave to do our foundation waterproofing after having several quotes. Not only did Dave have a very friendly approach but he was very professional and brought certain aspects of the job to light while others did not. Right away I felt very comfortable with him. Doing my due diligence I asked for references for past jobs so that I could find out for myself how he was. What I did not expect was that all of his references not only checked out but they even returned messages so that they could talk about how "great" he was. My first impression was right and I booked him to do the job. He and his crew showed up for when we booked him and even worked through some of the worst weather in Sept and finished the job when he said he would. Like all jobs there were some "jackpots" that came to light but nothing that Dave could not only handle but kept me in the loop on all of it. Although the job was very messy they all made sure that the site was cleaned up. He even had some extra top soil delivered and spread out so that I could re-sod the entire front yard. The basement is dry and our yard looks great. Thanks to Dave and Shane, the rest of his crew and all the subs that came in to help. I would have no issue recommending Dave to anyone. In fact there have been several people walking by who have asked about him because he did not leave a lawn sign because we did not have one to do so.

I am planning to finish my basement and I have decided to use a polyurethane injection to fill a non-structural foundation crack even though it did not leak. I have requested several quotes and Dave offered a competitive price. More importantly, he is very knowledgeable and offered advice in other matters as well. He did a great job and was professional throughout. I would hire Dave again and I would recommend him warmly to anyone needing help with foundation repairs.

I saw Dave's work elsewhere in our neighborhood before asking him for a quote. Dave works on the job himself (he's a master with the digger.) He left the site clean every day. His crew was polite and professional. And Dave went the extra mile to make sure everything was put back together - parging, garden beds, etc. Job was on time and on budget. Could not ask for more!

Joan and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank both you and your crew. Dave you did a terrific job for us, start to finish. If we needed this work done again, we’d hire your company without hesitation.
We had done our homework in verifying sources to complete our foundation repairs. Most companies we called never even called back. We had one guy come over to look and then he never gave us an estimate. Every time we called, he’d say, oh, just a couple of days. We were most fortunate that your company was by far the best in professionalism, as well as responding to our needs and meeting the dates we had set.
I did a bit of checking and I called people for references. Your company checked out and our meetings confirmed our decision so, we decided to go ahead. You booked us in, were here when you said you would be here, and were done within a week.
The work was efficiently and expertly done. Your company also does stuff that other companies don’t do, such as using fresh stone to fill the excavation and topping that off with soil (actually great for gardening!). Other companies just dump the old fill back in. They also put insulation around the bottom of our walls, they took care of having our air conditioner professionally disconnected and re-connected when the job was finished. They disassembled a portion of our professionally landscaped retaining wall and put it back exactly as it was. Dave even went to our immediate neighbour to advise what he was doing and let him know any mess would be cleaned to his satisfaction. That is service.

Dave's name was given to me by a business acquaintance when my wife and I were looking to have a long outstanding foundation leak fixed in our basement. I received three quotes to undertake the work and Dave was certainly competitive with the others. However, he was by far the most knowledgeable in describing the problem and what it would take to fix it. He gave us a start date and finish date to complete the work and he met both dates as well as completing the work as per his original quote.

The horror stories surrounding basement repair work is all too common and we have witnessed it in our own neighborhood. We called in a number of foundation specialists to assess our leaky, damp basement. The estimates were all over the place - and so were the suggested project scopes. Dave's price was right in the middle, but his work actually went above and beyond. He and his crew arrived when they said they would (unexpected, considering all the horror stories you hear), and worked every day until the job was done. Dave said it would take three weeks - it took three weeks. He made excellent recommendations (we installed a new water pipe and a frost-free outside tap), and when we decided to expand the project to include new front steps, he connected us with a very good masonry expert (Dalmatian Touch). Now that the basement's waterproofed and dry we look forward to finishing the space. Really good work here.

I contact a few companies to get estimates of the foundation repair. Dave Marcotte provided me with information on what needed to be done, timing and cost of the project. The other companies did the same, but, were excessive in terms of the work that they recommended as well as the price. If you want someone who is honest, hardworking and gives you value for the job that they are doing, Dave Marcotte is the best person for the job.
