Bravehart Building And Design

This is a review of Bravehart’s Phase 1 (Design) services. Our project involves the full-scale renovation of a small bungalow into a modern 2-storey family home. We began this process as complete novices to the renovation/building process. We selected Bravehart after meeting with several architects, technologists and designers, and we are completely satisfied with our decision. Laura has been wonderful at converting our vision into workable design drafts with an eye to incorporating our family’s particular needs and maximizing our value for money. She has been receptive to our ideas while offering realistic feedback and identifying potential issues. We highly recommend Laura for anyone seeking professional design and space planning services.

This is our second consultation with Braveheart. Laura is a very knowledgeable and extremely effective designer. She developed a comprehensive plan for our closets to maximize the limited space with elegance and functionality. She has the unique ability and intuition to match our style and incorporate contemporary designs with fabulous results.

Our 1950's two-bedroom bungalow lacked much needed space and was in dire need of a complete remodel. We contacted Bravehart to help us create architectural plans for the transformation. After much investigation of our needs, the site, and other factors, we agreed on a plan for a full 2 storey addition and with small additions at the front and back of the house as well. At a very early stage in the process, we discussed our preferred style for the house and reviewed the interior and exterior finishes to create a finalized list of Finishes for more accurate pricing, ordering and project management at the Design and Build stage.
Bravehart used clear processes to help us capture the look, feel, functions and finishes for our new home throughout the design and permit stages. We cannot recommend their team enough.

Bravehart came in and provided us with a comprehensive design package including the removal of load bearing walls, a full lighting plan, and a number of different layout schemes which they thought could work with our budget. We are now moving into the construction phase and we have contracted with them to provide that work too!

Bravehart is helping us finalize the details of our renovation planning for our new home in downtown Toronto. We have never undertaken this type of renovation project before, so it has been very helpful working with Laura to determine all details of our plan. Making decisions on aspects like the Lighting Plan, the style and supplier of kitchen can really affect the final look and the budget.
They are experts at making a few areas in the house very unique, by including an operating skylight over the stairs for passive AC, or, for instance, dressing up the side gables of a kitchen island with a rustic wood look to provide that cool industrial vibe.
My husband and I are extremely happy with the Bravehart Design Planning phase and can recommend them wholly.

Our firm contacted Bravehart to expand our office space; integrating two separate suites on the same floor of our building into 1 office.

We had just completed our corporate trademarking/brand ID program and wanted to ensure the firm we hired for office Design and Renovations, had a good knowledge of Corporate ID and understood the importance of translating the brand image and brand story into the new office space.

Additionally, we needed to document the required features, allocate space for our expanding staff numbers and ensure our budget was under control; easily identifiable before starting Construction.

Bravehart listened to our needs and provided optional approaches with different themes on our branding; including and plan layouts and budgets.

Based on this approach, we were able to quickly identify our preferred approach and edit the Concepts down into one go-forward plan that met our needs now and for the future.

We recommend their firm for Office Design/Build as their approach is comprehensive, logical and iterative. Laura also has a strong background in brand ID.
