window replacement

I think that my experience with Canadian Choice went as good as can be expected in the times that we are living in. The demand for the products they provide has gone through the roof as people are trying to use less energy. With the federal rebate program thrown in, you have to expect there to be long ques on orders. So once the windows arrived, things moved as quickly as expected, with good attention to details and workmanship. I had installed a high quality product at a reasonable price.

Oh wow. Wish I had seen these reviews before we ordered

We were happy with the sales pitch. Quick response, etc. but we are now past expected installation and despite my repeated calls have not heard back from this company. After reading these reviews I am starting to think we should take some measures to ensure that we either receive our windows and doors in the near future (without issue) or receive a full refund. At this point I am not recommending this company.

Window replacement

Great salesman good consultation. However. After install we had a crack in one from weather and yes they warrantied it but took so long over a year. Lots of run around and deception. Now I am tackling the siding and wow. Not pleased. There is little to no spray foam insulation. I can see interior moldings from outside the house. How is this energy efficient as was in the sales pitch. The tops had zero foam if you cant see from the ground it was missed. Same with any bottoms if you bent down you would be mad too. The spray foam they did use was cosmetic none actually was filling any voids plus the mess left was crazy.
Strongly suggest avoid at all cost this company
My opinion my energy efficiency is worse than the aluminum windows that were replaced. I feel taken advantage of. I should not have to watch every single thing the installers do. Just horrible

Nice product, horrible communication & quality assurance

We contacted Canadian Choice Windows & Doors to install 3 new windows and a patio door in our home after moving in.

Peter came on site, took initial measurements, gave us the sales pitch and we decided to place the order shortly after.

Fast forward 6 weeks and we get a call that our windows and patio door were ready to be installed and they came the next day. Kitchen windows and patio door were installed without issue. The dining room window however was incorrectly built and the measurements were reversed, 50x49.5" vs 49.5x50". OK, simple mistake, was reordered. 6 weeks go by and I get another call that the window has arrived, installer came next day.

This is where it gets interesting... This time around, again, the window was incorrectly build. This time, its 60x60", a full 10" larger in each direction. How? How on earth do you incorrectly build a window not once, but twice. The installer asked if we wanted to keep the window (free of charge), otherwise he'd be bringing it to the dump to dispose of. By this point I am irritated but back onto the waiting game. Keep in mind, I have NOT paid the bill in full yet as the installation has not been completed.

I contacted the office manager by email that day explaining the situation and requested some kind of discount on either the window, or to provide me with free installation. I never got a response. I reached out to Peter, never got a response.

Now we come to September, a full 5 1/2 months after I initially signed the deal and I get another call that the window has arrived. Installation was set up for a week and a half later and was installed just the other day. Thankfully, it was the correct size but, the factory forgot to send the exterior trim kit this time around. My goodness! At least they had extra in their truck and were able to complete the job.

Once complete, the installer requested final payment at which time I refused until someone calls me to let me know what kind of discount they'd provide considering I waited 5 1/2 months and had to have a simple window built 3 times before it was built correctly. Installer contacted our sales rep (Peter) and I was told I would be contacted shortly about this.

Peter contacted me today to inform me that they will waive installation and provided me with the final dollar amount for installation, which I paid immediately.

Do your research before signing on the dotted line. Although my windows are finally in, I don't think i'll be reaching out to these guys again to replace the rest of the windows in my home.

Follow up

I recently had an interaction with the company, and I wanted to provide an update on my previous review. The company did eventually get back to me, but unfortunately, it was not to address my complaint and work towards a resolution. Instead, I received a call from Arthur, who, to my surprise, accused me of being dishonest and insisted that I remove my complaint. Moreover, he cited a specific clause in the contract that was completely unrelated to the issue I had raised.

When I attempted to explain my concerns and the actual problem I was facing, Arthur responded by threatening legal action and stating that he would see me in court. This experience has only reinforced my belief that this company is extremely difficult to deal with and has not taken my concerns seriously.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

window replcement

just an update. they are a terrible company, replaced some windows, which do not match the rest, drip edges dont match, sreens are falling out of the windows, openers not working properly,, only took them 5 trips to try and make it right,,still cant get it right, 18 months later and still trying to reach a settlement.....been a major headache,,,thinking to get another more reputable company yo replace there mess,,,also no manufacturing info on window just a phone number,,,
NIGHTMARE, stay away from this company,,they are not bbb accredited, do not have licensed installers, cause more damage to your home then a tornado, no refunds, installers are foul mouthed and think you dont understand there language, we had a written agreement to replace the drywall, king studs they cut, etc. now there saying it falls under section 10 and 11 of original contract.. ordered draftlock plus slim windows and they installed vinyl window design windows.???? 14 tubes of silicone on 10 windows. wrong size windows, some to big, some to small. what a company. been over a year and still waiting for service..they are right and you are wrong, period.

Avoid at all costs windows are odd and poorly installed

Had the Edmonton branch install mine a few years ago then two windows failed .had the service guy come out to fix and he just took too it with a Blade and rendered the window useless .a lot of emails later they had no choice but to install two new ones as the service guy rendered them useless.the two they replaced them with was nowhere new the style of the others Also beaded from the outside and the original ones are internally beaded and where not even installed correctly or sealed with missing sill cap with a blob of caulking instead .they will not fix there mess they have made of my house .they are real quick at taking your hard earned money pitty there not the same at fixing the mess.they like to threaten you with lawsuits too .should maybe actually send a lawyer to my house and let them take a look at the mess they have done .

Full Home Window Replacement

We had a great experience with Canadian Choice Windows Edmonton! We looked at several other companies but we were so impressed with the initial discussions with Alexey that we went with Canadian Choice. We're so happy with that decision. They were knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to work through every thing with us. And the installers were wonderful; they were polite, thorough, and so careful in their work. They even took the time to repair previous damage below our largest window before putting the new one in. They didn't have to do this, they could have just put the new one in and moved on, but they chose to take the time to do the extra work (despite the -20C temperature) and we truly appreciate it. The care and attention they gave to each window is so appreciated, and the final touches on both the inside and outside were done beautifully on every single window. We have dealt with two other window companies in the past and neither one left us so impressed and satisfied with what was done. And the windows themselves are beautiful!

5 windows replaced in residential home

My experience with this company has been a NIGHTMARE. I encourage everyone seeing this to read the hundreds of negative reviews on how this business conducts itself.
My windows have been installed (4months late) for 11 months now and I have not had screens in my 3 bedroom windows all summer and to this date still nothing.
The staff I have dealt with have been dismissive and rude and offer no solutions this long after ordering.
The paint quality of the outside frames is horrendous and no one seems to care to correct this.
My countless emails go ignored and not prioritized.
When will Canadian Choice Windows & Doors finish the job and be an honest company?

Warranty customer service really awful

service is great when you are getting the windows and doors installed but once that is done you can kiss customer service good bye and welcome headaches and extremely poor customer service.

we had issues with our front door 1. the window framing was warping and that took 5 months to get that dealt with. 2. Now the bottom window cracked from the cold and it has been 3 months. Every single time they push it off to manufactures. I didn't buy the door from the manufacturers I bought the doors from Canadian choice windows and doors. They do not keep customers informed and you have to call many times to get service on warranty they provide yet it is always the manufacturers fault never theirs. Always a problem with the manufacturers they they even gave me the manufacturers number to contact them myself. Like "OMG Shrug", they literally can not do their jobs and will brush it off to another company. How is that customer service and why are customers even going through this company when you can most likely buy directly from the manufacturers and pay less by dropping the middle man which is Canadian choice

Oh and do not even talk a little loud ( I am deaf in one ear and age is not helping the other ear) they will hang up on you acting all offended. No customer service what so ever. They only want texts from customers, so they do not actually have to deal with a customer. Texts are for the younger generations not us older generations where voice calls means both parties should be able to hear each other. But instead they make up offences just so they do not have to deal with customer issues.
Funny worst I said was the secretary's customer service was rude and she should not even be working there and Texting is for millennials (as it was the younger generations they tend to use texting he most. use older generations like the good old fashion voice conversation. but that just made them all offended. Not caring that I am offended that it is taking months to get warranty work done on a door and trying to get someone to actually deal with it instead of giving me excuses.

Worse company for after service ever. I would definitely not recommend them to family and friends. If you need any warranty work done expect months to go by without any feed back from them.
Would give no stars but had to give 1 just to write a review.
by the way this is the Edmonton, Alberta location. I can not speak for all the departments across Canada.
