We renovated our main floor in 2021-2022 to move and upgrade our kitchen and finishes. OGC provided an all-in-one service to design and plan the main floor improvements we wanted to make, and manage the project, including service providers and suppliers. The OGC workers were qualified, skilled, and the company's service providers were kind. I'm most grateful for the fact that they honoured the warranty when we had issues with our new flooring in 2023-2024, after the renovation. OGC quickly sent people to check out the problem and scheduled us in to fix the issue at no additional cost for expenses we'd already paid as part of our renovation (I chose a different flooring product, and only paid for the price difference). I would work with OGC again and recommend them. think the approved design based on new information (eg. placement of supporting structures and ducts): there was a wall I really wanted to tear down which we initially thought was load-bearing, and demolition revealed it wasn't. However, it contained multiple air ducts and cold-air returns. It was nearly impossible for me to make a decision about what to do on site, with HVAC and project manager on site waiting for me to tell them what to do. I would have needed an expert designer to investigate possible solutions to reroute ductsif anyso I could have obtained the open space I wanted. We ended up keeping the wall I wanted to get rid of so desperately, and today I still wonder if there might have been a solution. Most of their suppliers were great, except for the painting company they initially brought in who did a terrible job, but OGC made it right by sending in their own painter to redo the work at no additional cost of course, and he was great! I also encouraged OGC to reorder their project in a sequence so that painting happens before fixtures are installed: that first painter who did a bad job stained a bunch of doorknobs, hinges, tracks, etc.... But overall, I would work with OGC again and recommend them.

I had a renovation done by Ottawa General Contractors which included my kitchen and 2 bathrooms (ensuite and main upstairs bath). Overall I was pleased with the result. There were of course issues along the way but each was resolved to our satisfaction. Our project manager Jim was fantastic. The design process was OK, but we ended up sourcing a lot of our own materials for the bathroom (i.e. vanities, bathtub, lighting, faucets, toilets). I just didn't find that our designer was giving us many options with prices provided. Our budget was tight and we were trying to keep a very close eye on it.

Please Note: Be sure to review the initial scope in great detail. If anything is not listed this will cost extra. Even if you discussed it with the initial sales person, make sure it's in writing.

After a large kitchen Reno last year a circuit breaker kept tripping shutting our microwave off. We emailed OGC on a Tuesday, received a return phone call the same day, had electricians on site Thursday to have the problem fixed.
OGC did not hesitate and made this a simple process without any hassles.

The company was very professional and all the employees from Brian, Hassam, Mike, and Jim, (and probably more I missed!) were very helpful, kind and had great ideas for our project.

We have been dreaming of blending our 2 families together to make a family of 7, it wasn't till we did our intensive researched that we were able to find the local Company in Ottawa that met all of our needs. OGC has been able to fulfill to the fullest everything we had envisioned in this journey of blending 2 families together. We wanted a room for each of our 5 children and a cozy master bedroom and 2 extra bathrooms, as well as an in-law suite. OGC was able to deliver each and every of our wants and desires, they were also very accommodating with our last minute changes that WE as customers, had overlooked during the initial design phase.

Through various delays and issues with the city permit process, we were kept up to date with regular emails and calls, about what was happening and next steps. OGC was very good with their communication skills.

In a project of this magnitude various issues and concerns will always arise. We voiced these to OGC and they were promptly dealt with, more often then not, above our expectations.

Timelines were met with out issue, excluding weather related delays (10 days straight of heavy rain caused them issues with concrete being poured on schedule)

All trades and in house workers were highly skilled and pleasant to work with. Each worker was well mannered, welcoming and respectful around our animals, 5 children and elderly parents. we were so confident and comfortable with the workers that we would leave the door open for them when we went to work without concern

Many of the workers went above and beyond, one even closed a window in our sun-room when a cold snap hit, as he thought our birds might get sick. We thought so highly of many of the trades we have referred work to them for family and friends

The final cost was close to the initial quote, with much of the overages due to our requests for changes or add-ons during the build, the rest was for unforeseen upgrades/ fixes.

Abdull, our project manager, was always available through out the project. He often advocated on behalf. He was always a calming voice of reasons and/or a rapid text reply during our stressful busy chaotic life with 5 kids and multiple animals and full time job to remind us that he would take care of our concern on hand and he never failed to deliver. He made this process very easy to navigate.

We would recommend OGC for any home renovation project, big or small, to our family and friends without any hesitations.

Hired OGC to demolish our old detached garage from the 50s. They built us a beautiful 22x26 modern, spacious garage. Super professional, great people to work with. Very happy with the final product.

We needed a family room/playroom and hired OGC to build an addition to our home. We initially chose to work with OGC because of the 7-year warranty that they offer. We really didnt feel comfortable hiring a company that couldnt even guarantee their own work.

They had their best professionals working on the site and it really shows. They incorporated very unique elements to the space and did so with great attention to details. We love spending quality time with our son in the new room and were grateful to Jim, Jammal, and Abdull for making it happen for us.

OGC renovated our 1970 bungalow with new rigid exterior insulation and Hardie Board siding, and replaced an existing window with double patio doors. Additional electrical and exterior lighting upgrades were also done.
OGC's project management and on-staff contractors did an excellent job, and were always professional. Need to keep an eye on the work of some subcontractors, but OGC were prompt in dealing with any problems.

Very satisfied with the project and its final result.

We built a full family unit (attached to our home) for my daughter and her family. OGC provided the design and construction work. OGC navigated the process for us and was able to pivot when needed based on City of Ottawa requirements. They always provided suitable alternatives to meet all permitting requirements.

We are very pleased with the final build. The contractors OGC hired did great work. OGC was very flexible to our changes and resolved issues quickly and to our satisfaction and we had an excellent working relationship.
