I hired Omar to reface all stairs upstairs and downstairs from carpeting to wood, partially cut a wall and replace it with railings, pickets and post, install stain and paint wood and trims. I paid his asking price of $14,600 cash. It was the highest quotation and the second highest homestars rating, but I took it with hope in a good job, done on time, before my wife giving birth to our baby. Everything was standard, nothing special. In terms of timing, he started about one week later than promised, reasonable ontime, not better and not worst than other contractors. In terms of quality, well, the handrail fall next day, giving a good scare to my heavily pregnant wife. The white primed trims are not fully and uniformly painted white, looking ugly in artificial light. Creeks on only one step not eliminated as promised. Most annoyingly, the first plank supporting the first post and pickets is not at the same level with the existing hardwood floor, which makes you to step up first before stepping down. A tripping hazard, no less and an instalation defect. I pointed out these issues, Omar fixed the failed handrails and promised to take care of the rest but by the end of the year, he will contact me. I thought is reasonable and said ok. I contacted Omar in December and January but no response so I guessed this was it with his work ethics. Is Omar price per quality worthy? Probably not. Would I hire again or recommend Omar? Certainly not. ............... Just read the response and simply I cannot accept the "BS" label he puts on my review. The fact that is not answering the calls for his so called warranty to address the painting issue and taking the time instead to issue untruth statements about is detestable.

this review comes as surprise to me because you spent over an hour reviewing my work before you made final payment. Granted the handrail coming loose was a legitimate issue which I address quickly, the rest of your complaint is BS and I'll explain why. I have and will post pictures of this job of before and after so any potential customer will have a chance judge for themselves the work that i did for you which by no means is a small simple job and you gave me that job because by your own admission none of the other companies could do. First when doing a recap there is no guaranty that the creaks will stop, you were told this from the start and the fact that only is still creaking means i did a very good job. Second, the pictures that i will post show the stairs in the light that was working on which is same light you were checking my work when you paid and the stairs look awesome but let me tell you natural light has an effect on finishing, halogen lighting has a different effect and LED lighting has a totally different effect. if you changed your lighting i can do nothing about that. Most customers provide me with a flooring sample to match thickness but in your case you did do that because the flooring sample you gave to match the stain is totally different than the flooring you have at the top of your stairs so that made it difficult to match the thickness and let me tell you a 1/16" is an acceptable variance. And as far as contacting me, most people leave a message and you have my email as well which you said was the best way to communicate, well i never received any emails from you. By my reviews on Homestars anyone can see that i try my best to satisfy my customers but you can make everybody happy only some of time. Good luck to you and congrats on the birth of you child.

We have an explosive combination of a white leather sectional for 5 years, and a big dog for 3 and a half. Also a reluctance to test all the chemicals that would, supposedly, clean it up. So we almost decided to buy a new one... Until we heard the news about Mr. Gerada's Fibernew services from a big furniture store. We said let's give it a try and one month after .... what a result! Our sectional looks like new and we can redirect many thousands of dollars towards other projects. But nothing compares with the pleasure to meet such a personable family (we got the privilege to meet Ms. Gerada) with such craftsmanship, patience, knowledge, professionalism and fun. Thank you Joseph and Anita

I purchased 565 sq. ft. White Oak of "HSL Superior Flooring" brand from Speers Flooring and have it installed by [one of the independent] contactors. Less than one year post installation, I noticed obvious [wood] quality issues, exfoliation, peeling of the finished layer in the grains' direction, later investigated and fully acknowledged by HSL Superior Flooring and Speers Flooring, with a promise for a written report and a solution for repair. All my contacts from that day, mail, fax, in person, email to the owner were followed up. Behind their smiling faces is a completely unprofessional attitude, slick greediness, a lack of respect for so many people trusting reviews from dead good times. I'm ready to supply all the paperwork for any class action initiative.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, Speers Flooring values all comments and concerns. A representative from Superior hardwood and Speers Flooring did a site inspection to address your concern - in which we found one board that had a split in it. Cause unknown. Our policy as per signage in the store and on all invoices states, “Defective material may be replaced, however no costs for labour will be assumed.” Speers Flooring did not provide the installation. Our installation policy has a full 3 year warranty on our installations. Please check with your installers warranty if he will take care of the labour portion to replace the one board that is defective or damaged. We will supply the needed board and a few spares to keep at no charge.

On October 20th I placed a call to Express Rooter Plumbing for a pipe in my basement that was leaking. Yuri came out to my place and provided service. Great work! However he was more than 3 hours late due to previous assignment, laudable dedication, but bad manners from receptionist for not following up with me for 3 hours!
