A review for Modern Konstruction

I was very happy with the service and support provided by Matt and his team. I had them board, tape and mud my kitchen and side entrance to the house. It was not an easy job, with 21 pot lights in kitchen dining area alone and a recessed beam to work around (from a removed load bearing wall). The work was done ahead of schedule, looks good and Matt was very easy to work with. All concerns were addressed to my satisfaction and I really appreciate that his quote included priming the walls afterwards. I will definitely be contacting Matt for my basement drywall work.

A review for Anray Construction

I hired Anray to remove a load bearing wall between the kitchen and dining room, replacing it with a flush mounted steel beam. The work was done with a permit and stamped structural engineer's drawings. The work was done and inspected and I though all was fine, until I began to notice cracks between the ceiling and walls in the rooms directly above the kitchen. Fortunately, another contractor who was in doing framing noticed what had happened and pointed it out to me. First, the joist hangers were not tight against the joists, as they should be to bear the load. They are supposed to be mounted tight against the joist and glued in place with contruction glue. That is what my framing guy noticed right off the bat. Then, as we were re-hanging the joists, we found that *many* of the joists were cut too short, so that only a small portion of the actual joist was in contact with the joist hanger. In many cases, the joists were literally being held up by nails! What is particularly troubling about this is that, not only was this not raised to me, or corrected in any manner, they actually went to the trouble of putting pieces of scrap wood into the gap TO HIDE THE FACT JOIST HAD BEEN CUT TOO SHORT!!! Once the joist hanger was in place, it was very hard to tell anything was wrong. To be honest, Ray and the guys were really nice and I wish I didn't have to raise this. But, nice guys or not, the fact of the matter is that they screwed up, didn't raise it, tried to hide it, and walked away. I'm frustrated at the inspector for not noticing this, but that is not the main issue here. There is nothing more important than a house's structure and these guys compromised the structural integrity of my house. Sure they offer a warranty on their work, but based on what they did, I have not interest in letting them touch my house again. I am very happy that Homestars is available so that I can share this with future renovators. Don't take my word for it, look at the pictures, and then never let these guys touch your house.

A review for Green House Home Comfort Heating And Air Conditioning

I was very happy with the service provided by Ricardo and the team. Having done a lot of research beforehand on boilers, I selected Green House from a number of contractors who have experience installing Vitodens boilder. Ricardo was extremely helpful during the consultation. He answered all my questions and took the time to explain some different approaches to me. One thing that distinguished him from the rest is that he did not "upsell" me on extra equipment that other companies were recommending I buy as well. The installation team was great. They were punctual, friendly, patient, and cleaned up well afterwards. I'm a real stickler for installation detail and they did a great job. The few concerns I had with equipment layout were immediately addressed to my complete satsifaction. Ricardo also came by afterwards to inspect the work to make sure it was up to his standards. Overall, an excellent upgrade. Good products, good service, good expertise and a good price. What more can you ask for? I've been renovating for a year and a half and this was one of the best contracts let so far. I will be calling them for the next phase of my renos.

Site work was excellent, exactly what I was looking for: on-time, clean concise work. Jerry walked through everything he had done, provided a lot of useful information and suggestions. The price was also very reasonable for the work done. I've been through a number of electrical contractors over the past year and I am definitely going to be contacting Electropro as my first call next time. Jerry is a real professional.
