Backyard re-sodding and landscaping

Backyard re-sodding and landscaping. There were some communication issues, but efforts were made to address issues with the completed project. This company is very busy during peak season from May to August.

Approximate cost of services:
$13,000.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?

Backyard re-sodding and landscapping

Unfortunately I feel compelled to post a review as I go to Homestars when hiring any tradesperson and this was the first negative experience. We contracted neigbourhood landscaping in the offseason to re-sod and re-landscape the entire backyard. Darko had great ideas, provided a very reasonable quote and was passionate about the project. However, by the time they started in May, he was still responsive but seemed annoyed by questions re progress and specifics (presumably the result of being very busy by this point). This was particularly problematic given the first cost spent to date report was for more than the entire project was quoted for. I will say the lawn looks great, but in the end they only did part of the contracted work for significantly more than the contract price. Half the trees they planted were dead within a month with no attempt to provide a resolution once they were notified. I've read some great reviews which leads me to believe they're just too busy in the spring. If you can't do a majority of the project in the off-season, you might look elsewhere.
