I turned to Margarida for guidance with my new house and she didn’t let me down. Within a short time, she had made amazing suggestions on what type of furniture to get, what colours would work and how to decorate the rooms. She very quickly understood the look I was going for and I am very happy with the results. I was most impressed with Margarida’s dedication to helping me pick out the right pieces. She sat down with me to pick out furniture/décor online and then even met me at a furniture store to ensure what we selected online would work together. I definitely recommend Chic Decor and will be continuing to use their services to spruce up the décor in the coming years.

Her professionalism is of the highest order as she efficiently and effectively works with the many variables and details involved in any interior design project. My experience with her was always satisfying. She is an astute listener and I loved the way she capably worked with what I already own, showing me new ways enjoy it, as well as recommending new purchases where needed. Although there is a significant cost for great advice on how to decorate one's home, I always felt it was worth every cent as it saved me a ton of time and indecision. I had met Margarida through my daughter who had used her services for her kitchen, living and dining rooms. I liked what I saw. I asked her to come to my home and to do a consultation. She suggested going the way of a contemporary style. The interior hadn’t had any work done to it for 20 years and I needed an update. I wanted to start in the family room first. We had a brick fireplace that I didn’t want to be removed and I didn’t want it painted either, so Margarida suggested that we cover it, which was new to me. Well I have to tell you that I was very impressed with my new fireplace. It is fantastic and the focal point in the room. The contractor she hired to do my fireplace was very reputable. Well from there I went with new sofas, accessories, and artwork. I’ve had so many compliments from family and friends, on the rooms that were redone. Last year we worked on the exterior of the house. New front door and repainted the garage door and shutters, the transformation looks stunning. When we shop for accessories I like the way Margarida works with my likes and dislikes. She gives me options that work and look good. When I first thought of getting an interior designer I thought I would just get the walls painted and it would look OK. Never did I imagine the transformation of the whole house would look this beautiful. As of today I am working on completing my master bedroom and en-suite. I find Margarida honest, professional, excellent on colour selections, and very easy to contact either by phone or e-mail. I would highly recommend her to anyone that was interested in decorating their home.

I had never hired a decorator before, so this was a new experience for me. Margarida was great. She works with your style and taste in decor and doesn't try to sway you towards something else. She helped me pick paints colors for the whole house, new lighting, back splash for the kitchen, rug for the dining room and new furniture, rug and custom book shelves for the family room. The trades people that she recommended were very professional, dependable and did excellent work. I would not hesitate to hire her again for future projects or recommend her to friends.

We purchased our home from a builder over ten years ago, and as a young married couple starting a family we were not in a position to upgrade or decorate properly at the time. A decade later and a few more dollars to spend it was time to make my house a home. I knew the right thing to do was call in a decorator, however I was a little reluctant. In my mind I always envisioned a decorator working on larger projects and became worrisome if it was something my budget allowed. Nevertheless I went ahead and began without consulting a decorator. I had my home painted and still felt that I wanted to do more but now felt as if I had hit a road block. Around the same time I visited my cousin and fell in love with her new living room. I realized then that even though I had already painted my house I did not want to buy a single piece of furniture, light fixture or decoration until I met with a designer. She told me exactly what to get rid of, what to go buy and from where, and the exact colours and sizes of everything! I had to write down everything she told me because she made so many suggestions that I didn't want to forget a single one. We had bought a new home and were trying to do the furnishing and decorating ourselves without much luck. We live on Roatan Island and so I thought finding someone to help us was going to be difficult. My sister in Oakville recommended Margarida while I was visting her. We met for an initial visit and to discuss logistics of long-distance decorating. Margarida was professional yet friendly and helpful. She recognized that speed was important as I was in Canada for only a short time. She asked concise questions and for my husband to send specific information and pictures so that at our next meeting together we would make the best use of our time. Based on my feedback and pictures of our space she was able to shop with me for everything we needed and then to arrange the shipping of the large items. Once everything was in place she skyped me so that she could see the finished project and make some fine tuning suggestions. My husband and I are thrilled with the completed rooms and know that we wouldn't have been able to come close to doing such a beautiful job without Margarida's help.

We had a wonderful experience with Margarida. I found her website and liked what I saw, so we interviewed her and felt connected immediately. She is so easy to talk to and had lots of recommendations of where to buy the products we needed to start the process. We were totally renovating a condo/townhouse. Without her expertise (and patience) with us, the journey would have been so much more difficult. She listened to what we had to say and took our ideas into consideration too. The kitchen and two bathrooms are the talk of the neighborhood and family gatherings. They are gorgeous. All the paint colors she chose worked well with our existing furniture. She was able to have me look outside my comfort zone and take a leap of faith, which was huge for me. The end result was worth it. Margarida was always right in her choices…. Her ability to “vision” was amazing and having her guide us through this major renovation was truly a dream come true for us. We would highly recommend her for any decorating/design project.

It is with great pleasure that I write this glowing review for Margarida. She is a true professional and has a gift for empowering her client's vision while providing important suggestions on how to improve upon a space. As all her advice is slowly being realized, it becomes clear what a huge difference small (and larger) changes make. One aspect of her professionalism which should really be emphasized is her respect and responsibility to her clients. I called her about 3 weeks after our consultation with a question about a runner for my hallway and she reponded that same afternoon with a very detailed message regarding size, colour, pattern and even what not to purchase! If the need should arise, I would definitely work with Margarida again and recommend her to friends and family.
