Yes, you can remove vinyl plank flooring, then install ceramic tiles as long as the surface is clean Laminate flooring is much cheaper than ceramic tile in terms of product cost

Yes, you can replace vinyl with tile, but the subfloor prep is critical—it has to be perfectly level and solid to prevent cracking. Regarding costs, laminate is definitely cheaper than ceramic once you factor in all the thin-set, backer boards, and labor for tiling.

Yes, vinyl flooring can definitely be removed and replaced with ceramic tile. The main thing is making sure the subfloor underneath is solid, level, and properly prepared before installation — that’s what really determines how long the tile will last without cracking. Laminate flooring is usually the more budget-friendly option overall, both for material and installation costs. Ceramic tile tends to cost more because of the prep work, mortar, grout, and labour involved. That said, tile is great for areas exposed to moisture or heavy traffic, especially with Canadian weather bringing in water, snow, and dirt during winter months. Here in British Columbia, a lot of homeowners go with laminate or vinyl for main living areas because it’s warmer and more comfortable underfoot, while ceramic tile is often preferred for bathrooms, kitchens, and entryways for durability and water resistance.

Yes, vinyl flooring can usually be removed and replaced with ceramic tile, provided the subfloor is in good condition and properly prepared before installation. In most cases, laminate flooring is less expensive to purchase and install than ceramic tile. However, ceramic tile is generally more durable, water-resistant, and can last much longer, especially in kitchens, bathrooms, and high-traffic areas. The best choice depends on your budget, the room location, and your long-term goals for the space.

Yes, existing vinyl flooring can typically be removed and replaced with ceramic tile flooring, provided the subfloor is in suitable condition. The condition of the floor underneath the vinyl is an important factor, as additional preparation may sometimes be required before tile installation. In terms of cost, laminate flooring is generally less expensive than ceramic tile when both materials and installation are considered. Ceramic tile usually involves additional labour, floor preparation, setting materials, grouting, and longer installation times. The best option often depends on the room, budget, and your long-term objectives. Laminate flooring is typically more economical and quicker to install, while ceramic tile generally offers greater durability, moisture resistance, and longevity, particularly in kitchens, bathrooms, entrances, and other high-traffic areas.

Yes you can. You also have to verify once the vinyl is removed the subfloor to ensure that's it's proper before installing a new flooring. Laminate is usually cheaper than ceramic tiling but laminate is now less popular than newer vinyl floors. If you're looking for a wood texture you should go with engineered hardwood instead.
