Replace several windows throughout our house

A review for Durabuilt Windows & Doors

Dec 24, 2011, Edmonton

We had to replace several very large windows in our older home. The salesperson we dealt with at Durabuilt was Alex, whom I'd recommend dealing with. I know a few other people who have had bad experiences with Durabuilt recently, but our experience was good - Alex made sure we were happy with the windows, and with the install. Our first windows installation was last year in the fall, and we went back to Alex again this past spring to get our front door and another few windows replaced. I would recommend dealing with him.

A review for Ronnex Garages

Dec 24, 2011, Edmonton

We are very happy with the work the Ronnex has done for us. The owner (Jason) was great to deal with. We are really happy with the finished product, and really happy we chose them (had a recommendation from a friend at work). Our only negative experience was with the electrical work done, which resulted in several visits, him not showing up twice and not contacting us about issues. Overall we would recommend this company however.

Company Response:

Thank you for your reveiw and your business. Sincerely, Ronnex Garages

A review for Amcor Roofing

Dec 24, 2011, Edmonton

Worst service and workmanship I've experienced from any contracting company we've dealt with in Edmonton. This company told us that ordering our sunroom would take 2 weeks and installation would be one day. After 2.5 months they finally showed up with the pieces to build the sunroom, and arrived to start the work the next week. The installer worked 2 days (for a total of what I imagine must have been 3 hours), and then never came back. What he did manage to accomplish was removing our eaves-troughs so that the water coming off the roof poured like a fountain next to the house, causing a flood in our basement, and glued some kind of track on the deck in which we had to step over when stepping out of the house. When we contacted them numerous times to ask when the installer would return, they told us somebody would be by the next day, or soon. No show. Also, they called us numerous times throughout this nightmare to say the installer would be by that day, or the next day, still NO SHOW. We began to think they had abandoned the project. When we went to the office of Amcor, we talked to the owner of this company who posted a review on here to let them know how upset and dissatisfied we were. He assured us that he didn't know anything about this, and that he would personally take care of this. He made us feel better, but as soon as we tried to contact him, saying the installer still hasn't shown up, or we are concerned about the flooding, he stopped answering his phone or taking our calls. It became clear to us that we were not going to get a straight answer from the owner, or any of the staff. Our contract stated that they would complete the work within 5 months of ordering - so when we contacted them to say they are a few days away from missing the contract installation date, they began to work again. The installer came back finally to finish the work, but did such a poor job, that when he said he was finished - even though we were extremely unhappy with the work, we told him not to come back because we would rather hire a capable carpenter to fix his mistakes than have this incompetent come back. Do yourself a favor - and stay away from this company!!!
