Harding's technician diagnosed a broken fan motor; then proceeded to indicate $770 for the motor plus $480 for new blades plus $250 for replacement capacitor for fan motor (part of electrical circuit that controls the fan motor). I indicated shock at the prices, paid for the diagnostic service and told him "I'm calling someone else to compare". Bought a replacement fan motor for $120 (at MotorTek), they included a capacitor ($5) and put the existing fan blades on the new motor for me as part of the service. I installed it back in the compressor myself. Total time invested to remove, source, pick-up and install parts-4 hrs, 2 of which was spent picking up parts. Harding (and other HVAC Co's) price their services to convince you to completely replace vs repair. BEWARE!

Approximate cost of services:
$95.00
