As my snowblower is too large to put in the back of my truck with a canopy, I decided to call BJ's because they have a pickup service for $10.00. The snowblower is 4 yearsold and was not running smoothly and would back fire when idling down to shut it off. They rebuilt the carb, put in a new spark plug, changed the oil. They delivered it back and after runing it for two to three days, the same symtoms reocurred. When I slowed the throttle down from full speed to half throttle, it would sputter and then finally die. I contacted BJ's and told on the problem and they came to pick the snowblower. The owner came to pick up the snowblower I and new right away I was going to have a fight on my hands. He started the unit and ran it a full speed and said nothing was wrong. I told him to run it half speed to see how it ran then. He said it is not meant to run at have speed and I shouldn't do it. I run it a lower speed when I go into the house to warm up. I said if it was meant to run at full speed all the time why would they put a throttle lever on it. He said they are no adjustments on the carb and he could put anew one for a $150.00. I told him I would take it to someone else who new about small engines and he left. I went up on the internet and went to Tecumsehs 10 hp motors and they gave instructions on how to adjust the carb and I did it and it now runs great. I would take anything there even if it was the only shop around. They have terrible customer service.

Approximate cost of services:
$136.00
