I contacted Lyall Coburn of Advanced Home Inspections on the advice of a friend who has worked closely with builders who recommended him along with another inspector. Lyall was not only thorough and knowledgeable, but he has the comforting demeanor of an ER surgeon: whatever came up during the inspection (I've done a couple and a lot always comes up), he was very forthright about what was serious and what things were minor, as well as suggestions for things I could take care of myself and projects that I might want to hire someone for. He had the detailed report, with pictures, completed within a few hours, and responded to a follow-up email very quickly. I would highly recommend Lyall.
