I used Ideal Reno for a small job to repair a door. He pointed out all of the problems that the previous meatball did when installing the door. The door opens, closes and locks properly now. The whole project took 4 hours to complete. I am going to have Jimi quote on a kitchen remodel and some painting in the coming months. Thanks again for helping me.

I really did not want to do this....but I have been deciding for months if I should post or not. We were not happy at all with Dennis. He came highly recommended, but after working with him for a 2 days it seemed that he has a cognitive problem. He does not listen to or respect his customers. He does not respect costs. As a small example, he bought 2000 drywall screws for a 5 x 10 foot room. "Dennis, please don't tear out the drywall," drywall was gone, "Dennis, don't tear out the pipes" pipes are gone. "Dennis, don't change the wiring" wiring was stripped and affected 2 rooms. He is a highly skilled tradesman and informed us of many jobs he did. The work that he did complete was top notch. Some of it, an overkill for what was needed. As time passed, he mentioned that the jobs he did went over budget and over time. Some by more than $200,000! He can not complete a job on time or on budget. He is more suited to large scale projects where cost overruns are part of the good old boys club. He would not quote us a rate and he preferred to work hourly. He added in the time that he spent travel to us and quote the job! When I asked him when he would get to a certain area, his response was "when I get to it." This was unacceptable. I am also missing some items. Although I can not prove it was him, I do not know anyone else that has had access to our home. These were items that I inherited from my father. I am really disappointed with him. We hired a trade person to finish some work and he had to redo several things that were not done correctly. I wish Dennis would have said "I am not sure how to do this," or "this job is new to me." I paid him every week for his work. His work became much slower. At the 11th (I think) week I said "enough." We had saved our money for 7 years for this and it was enough. He is a family man and is very proud of his family. But I can not say he is an honest working man. Please do not use his services.

Jimmy is very patient and goes the extra mile for his customers. It's nice to deal with a smaller shop where you have time to discuss things. THey have two locations, one downtown and one in Woodbridge.

In the renovation and construction industry, there is nothing regulating anyone from saying that they can do anything. Unfortunately, we were stuck with someone who could not do the job properly. After cancelling all work with him, we took a week off to recuperate. I searched homestars and found David's reviews. David called me and asked questions, then came out to look and quote. We said go ahead and he started a few days later. He pointed out errors of the previous contractor (a carpenter) and even had to redo a shower floor because it was done incorrectly. He gave me great pointers on plumbing as I had to redo some plumbing and install the toilet. We made a few changes as he went along. This increased his time on the job. It would cause anyone to be frustrated. He was very patient with us and accomodated the changes. Once the job was complete, he told us to call him if we needed anything or had any concerns. We didn't call him, but he called us about a week later to make sure everything was ok. He is a rare find, very customer focussed, and a devoted family man. He is the kind of person that you are proud to know and work with. Thank you for everything David.

Tony is the second generation in this business. His father still works there sometimes. They have huge machines on site and large slabs of marble. He cut and drilled my counter top for my bathroom vanity, made a ledge with drilled holes for the bath tub faucet, made another ledge, a threshold for the shower and then little square finishing pieces. He is very patient and a skilled artisan. I went to 6 or 7 locations and was most comfortable speaking with him. I would highly recommend this company. Prices are similar to other places, but you get a more personal feel dealing with him.

Jimmy is very patient and goes the extra mile for his customers. Although the tiles were off colour, this is a manufacturer issue. It's nice to deal with a smaller shop where you have time to discuss things.

Ciot is the poorest run operation I have ever seen in my entire life. If they can grow to be this big, then anyone is capable of running a tile business 4 times bigger! They have no customer friendly policies or procedures in place to handle basic customer sales. They do not make things easy for people and they really don't seem to care. It's a shame that some companies work so hard and strive to please while others sit back and don't do anything but they grow and make tons of money. 1) purchased tile - was told that 10 tiles were in stock and 5 back ordered from montreal. See another customer complaining that his tiles were back ordered for over 4 weeks now. Drive around to the back warehouse and all the tile is in stock. 2) we decide to exchange the unused tile. told that the new tile we want is back ordered from montreal. 3) tile is in, pick it up, get to the site, open the box, its the wrong tile. go back to store. told to go to warehouse. warehouse not only gave me the wrong tile, they gave me too much of it. A lady is screaming at them in the warehouse because her tile is broken and looks like crap. Warehouse guy responds saying they only put the best tiles in the batch on display in the showroom(?). They did not have the correct tile in stock, so he gave me a yellow slip saying that I returned the tile. Went to the front with the yellow slip. Tony told me it will be ordered tomorrow. I asked if I get a refund because I am now leaving with no tile and it's already paid. He said no, he wrote it down. 4) Called Tony the next day and asked if the tile was ordered. He said yes come in the late morning tomorrow. 5) Arrive at 1.00pm the next day to get tile. Tony says "the refund was issued, so I need the visa card to run it through." I asked if I could have the refund slip for my records and he could not provide it. I said I was not comfortable with paying again unless I had a refund slip. He said the lady that issues this slip is out at lunch and would be back in an hour. I said this is a real inconvenience, and he didn't seem concerned as he receives complaints all day. 6) I waited in my car for 20 minutes and went back in to ask if the lady was back from lunch. She was. He explained the situation to her and she whispered back to him and then went upstairs. Another customer complained and mumbled "what a f'n waste of my time," as he walked out. Tony looked over and said ok to me. I went over and he printed an invoice and handed it to me. He said just go to the back and your all set. I said "that's it we're done?" He said yes, so I left without giving him my visa again. Obviously, there was no refund issud like he said. 7) go to the back and the guy says I have to go to the other warehouse down the street (three buildings over). I said "are you sure?" He said "positive." I go to the other warehouse and interupt the guy having a cigarette. He looks at the paperwork and says I have to go to the first warehouse, the truck just left. I go back to the first warehouse and my small order of just 15 tiles are there waiting. I will never, ever, use this company again.

He showed up as agreed, after 4pm. He diagnosed the fan, fan motor and switch as the problem. The GE refrigerator is only 5 years old. He quoted $250.00 plus tax to fix. We agreed. He fixed it and took the old parts so I can't test the parts and confirm that all three parts were damamged. We live in an old house (135 yrs old). When he pulled the fridge out, he gouged the wood floors. I don't think he noticed or seemed care. Maybe he thought they were old anyway and it didn't matter. As he left, my wife said, "be careful on the steps, it's icy." His response was "why, so if I fall, I don't sue you?" There was no warranty on the parts for the fridge, so if they break down tomorrow, we are out of luck. The fridge is working and that's what counts, but for $280.00 it wasn't an enjoyable experience.
