A review for Design Innovations Inc

We wanted to build our custom dream home near the University. Design Innovations was initially ok to work with. Their custom show home seemed well built, albeit horribly decorated (the wife is the "interior designer" whose services comes with their builds). Unfortunately, Design Innovations failed to properly rectify a lot of problems, and failed to apply for proper permits. Our electrical work was so substandard that the outlets were unsafe and our children could have been electrocuted. We did not find this out for 3 years because they never applied for a final inspection. We never had an HVAC inspection either and now it is impossible without tearing out the walls. The worst was the roof leaks - which have now cost us nearly $100,000 out of pocket to rectify. The roof has leaked since construction and consistently until now (3 years since possession) and we have had to entirely replace it as well as the 2 roof decks. Sean is horrible to deal with and doesn't communicate well. They never write anything down and make mistakes and then don't want to fix them. They pressured us into allowing them not to fix a lot of cosmetic errors. I still look at the rounded corners that are dented and cracked and loathe them. Finally, as two professionals, it really bothers us that Sean misrepresents himself as an architect. He is in fact, an architectural technologist. His designs are flawed, and he does not have an engineer review them. We are left with a home with huge structural issues that are not really able to be fixed because he doesn't know what he doesn't know. He is a nothing more than a dishonest creep looking to make a quick buck. Do not build with these people.
