Don’t be fooled by his confidence, this contractor does not have the experience. Our initial discussions with Boris regarding our custom four-season shed were good. We agreed on drawings and a timeline. Things soon changed once the deposit was paid. Boris pushed off our project for 2 months and once started he left the structure exposed to the elements, then closed it up and expected me to rent dryers to eliminate the water and fix the damage done by the rain. Once the structure was dry and repaired, it looked like there were only a few outstanding items. That was until we realized the entire structure was leaking due to poor workmanship. When I confronted him about the issue, he stopped returning our emails / voicemails. Finally he made contact and requested additional fees to return and fix the deficiencies. The door and windows were installed incorrectly and there was no caulking was used on any of the surfaces exposed to water. He used a small amount of PL adhesive at the base of the shed between the concrete and wall, but this product does not waterproof. The membrane on the roof was installed above the flashing (see pictures) and attached with small pieces of wood. The roof did not overhang the structure and instead allowed water to run down inside the open corners. The door has a large gap at the top which allows water to enter and run down the back of the door. The double steel door he purchased does not close properly and is not insulated, as agreed. I have hired a new company to water proof the exterior. They felt that an amateur had built the structure.

Approximate cost of services:
$7,500.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
When a contractor builds a structure from scratch and the process does not go as planned, take responsibility for the outcome and work with the customer to fix the issues. Boris showed us that contractor horror stories still exist.
