Dishwasher Repair

- I agreed to the $80 charge for an estimate for repairs needed. I was told that it would cost $280 for the repair AFTER he looked and tested the dishwasher. I signed a contract to proceed. 10 minutes later Scott - the repairman requested another 463.90 to complete the repair. Requested that he leave but was charged the $280 + HST - not the $80 to determine all repair costs. - Run away. I got taken 100%

Worst Company I have ever dealt with in my life

Never ever ever consider this company for any of your needs. I have dealt with dozens of maintenance, repair and other service companies in my life and this is hands down the worst company I ever came across.

Our refrigerator suddenly stopped working (not cooling) and we made the mistake of calling ApplianceRepairTeam without reading any reviews about them. A technician, Mr.T shows up on the same day. Like others said he quoted $280 + tax for labour plus costs of any parts that need to be replaced. We were in a hurry and didn't think the parts would be significantly costly, so we agreed to proceed. He works at it for about 90 mins and says we have to replace thermostat and fan which would cost about $430 + tax. We were hesitant at first but after he said that the parts would have one year warranty, we agree to proceed. He
installed the new parts and gives us the bill which has no mention of warranty. After we ask for it, he scribbled down a warranty of 30 days on the receipt. We insist on getting the 1 year warranty as we only agreed to proceed based on that. But now he changes his story and says he can't state that on the receipt and asks us to call the customer service. We call customer service and try to reason with them about either giving warranty as promised or waive off part of the fee. But the customer service rep keeps arguing and keeps saying why we care about one year warranty if the fridge is working now. Seriously ?? She says she can
only give 40 day warranty and speaks with the technician. We talk with her a bit more and reluctantly agree to pay the full fee $280 + $430 + tax for 40 day warranty, but in the meantime Mr. T starts getting mad for no reason and starts taking out the parts he has already installed. Customer service rep says that the technician was uncomfortable and she can't do anything. We were never rude with the technician either when we spoke with him or with the customer service. He gives no explaination and mumbles something about how he's doing it for 5 years, and that his decision is final, he spoke with his manager etc etc. He and the customer service rep refuse to let us speak with his manager but insist on us paying $280 + tax. At the end we ended up paying $280 + tax for pretty
much nothing, after the customer service rep promises us to get back to us based on his report. After not hearing anything from them on that day and the next business day, we give them a call only to be told that they would call us back, which they never did.

I regret not recording what went on as I have no proof of what happened (except for the bill receipt Mr.T gave me). We also found out from the fridge manufacturer later on that the parts for which he was going to charge $430 would only cost around $200 at most.

Leaky Washer

I wish we had read these reviews before dealing with this company. We had a very similar, negative experience. They say they charge $80.00 for the quote which would be applied to the repair costs if we employed their services. The technician wouldn't even touch the unit until we agreed to $320.00 + tax for servicing. He apparently "serviced" the machine, and then told us it required a new drum that would cost $1400.00. Contacted company for an explanation, days later still no response.

Enjoy my $295 for your 28 minutes "job".

DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE: FIND ANOTHER COMPANY FOR YOUR REPAIR. Tech dude came, fast-talking guy. Diagnostic: motor-pump needed replacement (quoted $476.87 just for the part!!! seen it the previous day in the official website brand for $164) OR a silicon repair that "works 99% of the times", for $295. He did it. Total time spent since knocking on my door: 28 minutes. "Don't use it for the next 24 hours". Waited 48 hours. Run a test. FAILED. The leak is same as before this "repair".
Called the company to claim. Rude senorita on the phone argued that I've signed the papers, so "unfortunately..." blablablah.
Hope you bankrupt as quickly as you are to take the money.
Short story. RUN FROM THIS PEOPLE.

Dont use them

Company showed up in a google review at the top. I was quoted 80$ over phone and then once technician arrived, he would not fix it unless we agreed to pay 270 for 3 tests. After these tests he indicated we needed a new washing machine. This company is a hoax - don't fall for it. And to top it off, I put feedback on their website and it was taken off the next day.

Terrible company

The worst company I came across... they got almost C$500 from us to fix a leak problem in our dishwasher. First time, I was told I could either pay C$30 every 10 minutes or C$280 plus parts. I chose the second option because I didn’t know how long the service would take. One day later, the dishwasher was leaking again. After calling the company and insisting the problem wasn’t fixed and making sure I wouldn’t have to pay any extras for the visit, the technician came, saw the water accumulated under the dishwasher, run one express cycle and said the pressure of the water was the problem. One day later the dishwasher is leaking again! They took out money and left us with a broken appliance!

Washer repair disaster

DO NOT CALL - Terrible company.

When called they give one quote on the phone, then Taj, the repair person shows up late to the appointment and demands a higher service call fee. First glance he says he can clean the washing machine and it should be ok without needing new parts - great. 40 minutes later he says, yes it needs a new part but he has it in his truck. Part is $225 alone. 2 hours later he is still at it and has 'discovered' it also needs another part that has to be ordered.

1 week later and he returns, late again, to install the part. Machine runs, but sounds terrible. He hasn't leveled the machine properly (front loader) and it is banging and moving across the floor. We stop using the machine and call him back to level it. 3 days later he arrives (late) and supposedly levels it. We use the machine, still banging away, not leveled, and it breaks. The repair person is either completely incompetent or is intentionally damaging the appliance to get more parts. Added all up with parts and service and tax I have now paid over $700. Marcella the customer service manager says she has submitted a refund request on my behalf, but now doesn't return phone calls.

I am also posting this review on Yelp and with the Better Business Bureau and anywhere else I can think of. If there are enough people that have lost money with Appliance Repair Team, we should get together and start a class-action suit. Love to hear from you, if so.

Worst company ever

Sending out a HUGE WARNING, not to ever use an Appliance repair company called APPLIANCE REPAIR TEAM (Appliance repairteam.ca).
Here's the short of it.
They came out to fix out fridge (compressor) and washing machine(drain pump), on the Sunday before the holiday Monday.
They left with $1824.68 of our money, up front, even after they tore a huge gash in our floor, to return to fix the appliances the next week...Wednesday they said.
Wednesday no part. Thursday no part. Friday, Dave stayed home and the part for the washer did arrive and was installed. Only to be told immediately that we needed another $500 part. Would have never put both parts in, had we known this. Would have bought a new washer.
Dave waited the rest of the day for the compressor for the fridge. At 5:30 he called and we found out they didn't have the part.
No part Monday. No part yesterday. Today we were told they would give us a refund of $1069.20, because they are charging us a restocking fee for a part we have never seen. Rest assured, they have ordered it, they tell us!
So we spent a total of $755.41 and not one of our appliances works.
BEWARE.

Laundry Machine Repair

Had a leaking laundry machine. Quoted $90 on the phone for a technician to come and diagnose the issue, and if I go ahead with the repair then the fee is waived... Technician shows up and won't even look at the washer until I agree to a $320 labour fee. We go ahead with things and he's gone in 30 minutes saying that the leak is fixed. I try the machine an hour later and it leaks worse than before. Called them to get him back and got the run around on the phone for 6 hours. 3 days later he's supposed to come back... I take the day off work to be home for him and the technician doesn't show up. So this company is great if you want to pay cash up front and get no work done.

Took the money and ran

They completely condos from beginning to end. My husband looked up appliance repair and of course the appliance repair team showed up. We should’ve looked at reviews but we were anxious to get her dishwasher fixed what a mistake. They come quickly they take your money quickly they leave quickly and they leave a mess. They did not fix our dishwasher they did not get any parts they told us everything was discontinued. When we phone back they did not return our calls they didn’t even tell us the part wasn’t available until we repeatedly called them and were put on hold. We tried to talk to a supervisor or owner or anyone other than a very young girl who seem to be the only one answering the phone. It was obvious from the beginning we were not going to get any help she kept putting us on hold either that or being cut off. We never got an answer and now we’re looking for a new dishwasher sadly. Our dishwasher was only six years old. Neither my husband nor I want to spend another $316 on repairs that don’t happen. This kind of thing leaves a very bad taste in your mouth and makes you dissed trust anyone in the Repair business. Always check out reviews first.
