The infamous tornado of 2009 really punched me in the guts. It completely wrecked the outside of my home. I’m actually lucky because friends of mine got it much worse. I had eavestrough hanging off of my house, in front of the garage door and front door, everywhere. I called Tip Top Trough and they came the next morning. They did what they could to make it so we could get in and out of the house without ripping off what eavestrough I had left. They cut and disposed of the hanging eavestrough and re-secured the eaves and fallen downpipes. What they did actually held us over until we settled with the insurance company and had them back to put new eavestrough up. A really great company, thanks guys!

I had a new roof installed last spring and at first it appeared they had done a good job, until the first time it rained. Water was pouring from behind the eavestrough all along the roof of my garage. I called the roofing company but they said that it was an eavestrough problem, not a roofing problem. I had seen signs for Tip Top Trough around my neighborhood and gave them a call. After scheduling an inspection with Pierce, he came out and gave me a quote for drip edge installation. Not only did he solve the problem all around the garage, (saving our landscaping) but he took pictures of the shingle roof edge and explained to me that the roofers had started their shingles too short and that was causing the water behind the eaves. Of course the roofing company won’t return my calls.... But I was very impressed with the quality of service and patience I received from Tip Top Trough.

That crazy hail storm last year dented all of the fascia and eavestrough all around my house. After a lengthy “discussion” with my insurance company we got a settlement for a new roof, eavestrough and fascia. Our roofer recommended Tip Top Trough to quote on the work. They were able to provide us an estimate fairly quickly and were not the cheapest price but we decided to try them because of the high recommendation. We are happy we did. The two companies worked seamlessly together and as soon as the roofers were complete, the next day we had new fascia and eavestrough on the house. It was a great experience and we give their numbers to our friends and family all the time.

We had a long overdue cleaning on our eavestrough as well as a couple of minor repairs to make the trough system work better for our home. Tip Top Trough was amazing, they had friendly workers, great customer service, competitive pricing, fully licensed and insured ( many people dont realize that your contractors need to be licensed with the city of toronto to do work on your property) and above all they do a quality job! All homeowners should be so lucky to deal with contractors like this all the time!

leafguard installation turned into a cleaning

I was considering having leafguard put in my eavestrough, I had actually verbally agreed with another company to a quote they had provided. Tip Top Trough was working on a house across the street and I figured I would take 5 minutes and see if I could get a better price. After a brief inspection of my home, their guy said he would not recommend installing leaf guard at all. He pointed out a large pine tree on my neighbor’s property that was definitely depositing needles onto my roof and eaves. The type of leafguard the other company had quoted to install was too porous and would eventually clog my downpipes. Now I use Tip Top Trough to clean my house twice a year.

Last summer, my neighbor’s tree fell on my house. It was during one of those crazy storms and the tree damaged my custom inlaid galvanized eavestrough. I have used Tip Top Trough for a few years to do regular cleanings, when I called Pierce and told him what happened he was at my house in a couple of hours. He was able to repair the eavestrough long enough to hold off the impending rain. I ended up replacing all of the eavestrough on my house and on Pierce’s recommendation I did the inlaid trough in copper. The whole house looks amazing and my wife loves the look of the copper. What I love about Tip Top Trough is I got everything I needed from one company. They clean, do same day emergency repair and do installations. Truth is I am a lawyer and the only reason I know about an inlaid trough system now is because he took the time to explain it to me. 10 out of 10!

Searching for eavestrough repair contractors online I came across Tip Top Trough’s website 'www.tiptoptrough.com'. It was very simple to navigate and answered a few questions that I had. I was able to find the problem I was experiencing on the 'Homeowners Corner' Page. I submitted a request for a quote online and had my price 48 hrs later. When we spoke they were friendly and professional and made the experience rather painless. I would certainly recommend them to others.

Our home inspector suggested we look into replacing the eavestrough on the home we just bought. Once we moved in and settled we received a flyer from Tip Top Trough. I scheduled a quote and met them at the house later that week. After taking measurements they made some suggestions about the downpipe locations and recommended moving them to low traffic areas around the house. They also informed me about a new by-law coming into effect that would require all downpipes to be above ground, something the other contractors didn’t tell me. They even supplied me with a rain barrel to help water our garden .Their price was competitive and they did a great job!

I live in Forest Hill and we have several downpipes that go into the ground beside our house. One day we had a huge leak in our basement and needed an immediate solution. We had several waterproofing companies quote on the job and all were in the several thousand dollar range. My neighbor suggested we call the eavestrough company they used to install the eavestrough on their newly renovated home. I called and spoke to Pierce at Tip Top Trough and I scheduled a meeting with him the next day. He offered me another solution and explained why it would work. Being an honest contractor he also told me that there is a possibility that it would not work and waterproofing would be the next logical step. I took his advice and his solution worked like a charm. Not only did they save my basement, they also saved me an arm and a leg. Thank you.
