Replaced lid switch for dryer

View Member ProfileI have an old dryer (1970s) that stopped working because the switch that is triggered when the door closes was broken. I found Joe on Homestars as a top rated service provider and gave him a call. Within a couple of hours I had a working dryer. Joe was extremely knowledgable and professional. I will definitely keep him in mind for any future work.

Fix dryer and then washer
Randar in TorontoI originally used Joe some time ago for a dryer that was leaving oil stains. He was honest about not being sure if he could fix it, charged a very reasonable amount, and was very knowledgeable and patient. Although he was great, I would have given him an 8 at the time, only because he didn’t actually fix the issue in the end. I am giving him a 9 now because I have called him twice since that time with different problems, described my problem in detail and asked him the question of “should I get you to fix it or should I just replace it”. Both times, he suggested replacing it, even though he could have charged me for work. It’s nice to see an honest contractor and will definitely call him again.

Kenmore Dishwasher
LisaD in East yorkDishwasher wasn't washing very well. Came with the house, so age unknown. Joe came with the part sight unseen, and fixed the machine. Nice, honest, and cares about what he does. Will definitely keep his info on file!

Within 2 1/2 hours of our call, he was at our door and had our fridge up and running in 45 minutes. He was very professional, informative and friendly. I would recommended him to anyone and will definitely use him again.

Dishwaser repair
Robert in WoodbridgeOur dishwasher lost water pressure (dishes were not washed properly) I have called the Appliance Guy and set up an appointment. Technician came on time and service the unit (olive pit was stack in the water pump) , it was a quick repair. Technician seems to be very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend them.

Repair oven
Sandra in MississaugaOur very expensive oven suddenly stopped working and the whole uni powered off...2 weeks after the warranty was up! And worse yet, 2 weeks until Christmas. As I was expecting a lot of family to come over for Christmas dinner, this had to get fixed and fast. Luckily the appliance guy did exactly that. He knew exactly what was wrong, got the part and replaced it. Excellent work.

Our oven seized
Jen Barry in North YorkI had put a roast in the oven, closed the oven door, walked away and heard a loud clang, couldn't see an obvious problem but then noticed an error message on the whirlpool stove. It said LOC. I didn't know what was going on, tried to open the oven door and it was stuck! I've never heard of this before, but, it's a self cleaning oven so, I am aware that it has a lock. I looked it up on the internet how to fix this, I pressed the combination of buttons to unlock, would hear a noise like it was trying to unlock, but, it never let go. Did a quick look up online for oven repairmen, they came over the next day, took a quick look and said the lock had seized. The stove is less than 5 years old! A part was ordered and the repairman came back the next day to install it. They were neat, professional, and on time. No problems and if I ever have issues with my appliances again, I will be calling them.
